Land Rover TPMS Sensor Acting Up? Real Help Inside

Tire pressure to low

Hey everyone! Having trouble with my '07 Land Rover Discovery diesel (109,592 km). The tire pressure warning keeps coming on even though I've checked and filled all tires properly. Pretty sure it's a sensor issue since I had a not-so-great experience with a mechanic recently who was supposed to fix it. Has anyone dealt with faulty TPMS sensors on their Disco? Looking for recommendations on whether I should get the sensors replaced or if there might be a simpler fix. Really don't want to get ripped off again. Thanks in advance!

Hey there! I can relate to your TPMS headache. Had the same issue with my '04 Land Rover Range Rover diesel last month. The warning light kept flashing despite proper tire pressure. Turned out two sensors had dead batteries, and because they're sealed units, the whole sensors needed replacement. For reference, I actually had all four TPMS sensors replaced since they typically have similar lifespans (around 5-7 years). The mechanic mentioned it wasn't a serious issue but more of a maintenance thing, like changing a battery. However, driving without working TPMS can mask real tire pressure problems, so it's worth fixing. My suggestion would be to have a diagnostic test done first to confirm which sensors are faulty before replacing anything. Sometimes it's just one or two that need changing, not all four. Hope this helps!

Thanks for sharing your experience! That's exactly what happened to me too. Got mine fixed about 4 months ago and it's been working perfectly since then. Just curious, do you remember roughly how much you paid for the sensor replacements? And has everything been running smoothly since the fix? I've heard these sensors can sometimes trigger other electrical gremlins, but hoping that's not the case.

Hey again! Glad to hear you got it sorted too! After my initial reply to your post, I actually went to get mine fixed and it was such a relief. Cost me 280.00 € to fix the sensor battery issue, which honestly wasn't as bad as I expected given it's a Land Rover we're talking about! Since the repair, everything's been running perfectly smooth, no more annoying warning lights or false alarms. You mentioned electrical gremlins, but I haven't experienced any other issues since the fix. The mechanic did a thorough job and explained that the new sensor battery should last another 5-7 years at least. It's funny how these little sensors can cause so much stress, right? But it's definitely worth getting them fixed properly rather than ignoring those warning lights. My Range Rover's been happy as can be since the repair, no electrical weirdness or any other problems to report! Let me know if you notice anything unusual with yours, always good to compare notes with fellow Land Rover owners!

Thanks for the update! Yeah, I totally get what you mean about the relief after fixing it. My story's actually pretty similar, took it to my mechanic last week after our initial chat here. Turns out my issue was also the sensor batteries, but I got lucky and only needed to replace two of them. My bill came to about 185.00 €, guess I caught it early enough! The funny thing is, my mechanic found that one of the sensors from my previous "repair" wasn't even properly installed. No wonder I was having problems! He sorted everything out, and now my dashboard is finally warning-light free. Such a load off my mind! I've put about 1,000 km on it since the fix, and everything's working perfectly. No electrical issues or any other weird stuff popping up. Honestly, I feel a bit silly for putting it off for so long. Should've just gone to a proper mechanic in the first place instead of trying to save a few bucks with that sketchy repair job. Thanks again for all your help, really appreciate you sharing your experience! Definitely helped me make the right decision this time around.
