Thanks that's really helpful info about the Ad-Blue system! You're describing exactly what I'm experiencing with my Freelander. Do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the whole repair job? Also, has everything been running smoothly since then, or have you noticed any other quirks pop up? Would be great to know what I might be in for!
Hey again! Just to update you, yes, everything's been running perfectly smooth since I got it fixed! The total bill came to 1620.00 € for replacing the defective Ad-Blue tank and cleaning out the system. I know it sounds steep, but honestly, it was worth every penny because the car's been running like a dream since then. The Ad-Blue system pressure issue hasn't come back at all, that low-pressure warning that was driving me nuts is completely gone now. It's such a relief not seeing those warning lights on my dashboard anymore! The DPF's working properly too, no more regen failures or anything. Honestly, I'm really glad I didn't wait any longer to get it sorted. Been driving it daily for months now without any new quirks or problems showing up. If your symptoms are similar to what I had, I'd definitely recommend getting it checked out soon. Sometimes these things can get more expensive if you leave them too long. Let me know how you get on with yours!
Thanks so much for all that detailed feedback! I bit the bullet and took it to a different mechanic who specializes in Land Rovers. You were spot on, it was exactly the Ad-Blue system issue you described. Ended up costing me roughly the same as yours, but the car's running perfectly now. The mechanic was really thorough and showed me all the crystallization that had built up. Can't believe how much gunk was in there! They cleaned everything out, replaced the sensor and nozzle, and even gave the DPF a good clean while they were at it. Such a relief to have those warning lights gone, feels like I'm driving a different car now! Should've done this weeks ago instead of worrying about it. Really appreciate you sharing your experience, helped me make the right call instead of putting it off any longer. Guess I've learned my lesson about not ignoring these warning signs! Thanks again for all your help!
Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2016 Land Rover Discovery 4 diesel last year. The symptoms were exactly like yours, check engine light, DPF warnings, and Ad-Blue system acting up. Turned out my Ad-Blue tank had a faulty sensor and there was crystallization in the injection system. The crystals were blocking proper flow, causing the low-pressure warnings. The garage had to clean the entire Ad-Blue system and replace both the tank sensor and injection nozzle. It was a fairly serious issue because if left unattended, it could have damaged the SCR catalyst system. Took them about two days to fix everything. The car's been running perfectly since then, no warning lights or DPF problems. If I were you, I'd get it checked soon. These symptoms usually don't fix themselves and can lead to bigger problems with the emissions system. Try finding a garage that specializes in Land Rovers, they'll know exactly what to look for. Hope this helps!
