Land Rover Discovery Phone & GPS Connection Problems?

Hey everyone! Having connectivity issues with my 2021 Land Rover Discovery. Can't connect my phone and GPS signal is completely dead. Thinking it might be related to the car's connectivity system. Has anyone dealt with similar problems? Would really appreciate hearing about successful fixes and workshop experiences with this. Thanks in advance!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2019 Land Rover Range Rover last year. I have some experience working on cars, but connectivity stuff isn't really my forte. My phone kept disconnecting, and the GPS was acting up just like yours. Took it to my regular workshop where they diagnosed it as a pairing issue between the car's system and connected devices. They had to reset and reconfigure the connectivity module, took about an hour and cost me 45 Euro. Working perfectly since then! Before you head to a workshop though, what's your Discovery's exact trim level and infotainment system version? That info would help me tell if it's the same problem I dealt with. Also, have you tried doing a complete system reset already?

Thanks for sharing your experience! My Disco has exactly 159756 KM on it and had its last service just 2 months ago. The issue actually started right after that service. I've got the base trim with InControl Touch Pro, and yeah, I've already tried the complete system reset multiple times, no luck! Super frustrating because everything was working perfectly before. I'll probably need to take it to a workshop like you did, but wanted to check here first in case there's a simpler fix I'm missing. These connectivity issues are such a pain, especially since I rely on the GPS quite a bit!

Hey again! Yeah, that's really interesting that the issues started right after your service, exactly like what happened with my Range Rover! Mine was also working perfectly fine until after a routine service. The timing can't be a coincidence. Since you've got the InControl Touch Pro (same as mine) and you've already tried the system reset, I'm even more convinced it's similar to what I experienced. In my case, I later found out that during the service, they did a software update that somehow messed with the connectivity module's settings. Quick question, when you try to connect your phone, does it show up in the available devices list at all? With mine, it would show up but disconnect immediately. Also, does your GPS issue happen all the time or does it occasionally work for a few minutes before dropping out? The workshop reset and reconfigured my connectivity module, but they also had to update some software patches that were causing conflicts. Worth mentioning that they found some corrupted files in the system too. If it's the same issue, it should be a relatively quick fix. Just make sure to mention these symptoms when you take it in, it'll help them diagnose it faster than the trial and error I went through! Let me know if you need any more details about what they did to fix mine. Happy to share more specifics!

Thanks so much for all this detailed info! This really helps narrow things down. Yes, my phone actually does show up in the device list but disconnects right away, exactly like yours did! And the GPS works for maybe 2-3 minutes when I first start the car, then completely dies. You've basically described my situation perfectly. I'm definitely going to get it checked out now, especially hearing about those corrupted files and software conflicts you mentioned. Makes total sense that the service might have triggered this, I just hadn't made that connection before. Really appreciate you taking the time to explain everything so thoroughly. I'll contact the workshop tomorrow and make sure to mention these specific symptoms. Hopefully, they can sort it out as quickly as they did with yours. Such a relief to know it's likely just a software/connectivity module issue rather than something more serious! I'll update here once it's fixed in case anyone else runs into the same problem. Thanks again for all your help! This is exactly the kind of firsthand experience I was hoping to hear about.
