Hey there! Happy to help update you on my Eclipse sunroof saga. Yep, everything's been working like a charm since I got it fixed, not a single problem! The whole thing cost me 75€ for the coding work, which honestly wasn't as bad as I expected. The Mitsubishi specialist I went to really knew their stuff. The key issue was exactly what I suspected, the sunroof just needed proper recalibration. Once they got in there and did the coding, it was like night and day difference. The sunroof now glides smoothly, and that annoying warning light is gone for good. It was definitely worth going to someone who specializes in Mitsubishis. They sorted it out pretty quickly since they had all the right diagnostic equipment. If you're still looking for a place to get yours fixed, I'd say go for a specialist, it'll save you headaches in the long run!
Thanks so much for all the details! I actually just got back from the mechanic today. Took your advice and found a Mitsubishi specialist nearby. You were spot on, it was mainly a calibration issue, just like with your Eclipse. The whole thing cost me about 90€, a bit more than yours but still reasonable. They also found some debris in the tracks that was causing extra resistance, so they cleaned that out too. The guy was super professional and knew exactly what he was doing. The best part? My convertible top is working perfectly now! Opens and closes smoothly, and that annoying warning light is finally off. Really glad I chose a specialist instead of going to my regular mechanic. They fixed it in just a couple of hours, and I'm back on the road with a properly working top. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction. Definitely saved me from what could've been a much bigger headache!
Had a similar issue with my 2005 Mitsubishi Eclipse (gas engine). The sunroof got stuck halfway, and the warning light came on. Took it to the dealership, and it turned out the control module needed recoding and calibration. The sunroof motor was fine, but the system had lost its reference points. The technician had to hook it up to their diagnostic computer to reset and reprogram the entire sunroof control system. They also cleaned and lubricated the tracks while they were at it. It was a relatively serious issue since it involved the car's electronics, but not engine-critical. After the coding and calibration, the sunroof worked perfectly again. I'd recommend going to a Mitsubishi specialist or dealership for this one, they'll have the right diagnostic tools to properly reset the system. Regular mechanics might not have access to the specific programming equipment needed. Hope this helps with your L200 issue.
