Hey again! Absolutely, the car's been running like a dream since I got it fixed! It's been about 8 months now, and I haven't had a single problem with the fuel system. No more stalling, no jerky acceleration, and those annoying cold starts are history. What a relief! The total bill came to 45€ for the software reprogramming and calibration. Pretty reasonable, if you ask me, especially since I was worried I'd need to replace the entire fuel pump! If your mechanic's quoting way more than that, might be worth getting a second opinion. These ECU fixes are usually straightforward for shops with the right diagnostic equipment. Best decision I made was getting it checked out properly. Sometimes the simplest fix is the right one, you know? Let me know how it goes with yours!
really appreciate all the info! Just got back from a different mechanic today, and you won't believe it, you were spot on! Turned out to be an ECU issue with my L200 too. The new guy charged me 550€ total, which included some diagnostic work and the reprogramming. The whole process was way smoother than my last mechanic visit. They hooked it up to their computer, found the faulty signals, and sorted everything out in about two hours. Just took it for a test drive, and what a difference! No more stuttering, starts up perfectly, and the engine's running super smooth now. Seriously, thanks for steering me in the right direction. You saved me from probably spending a fortune on replacing parts I didn't need. Sometimes you just need to find the right mechanic who knows what they're doing, right? Really happy I asked here before going ahead with any major repairs!
Hey there, I had very similar issues with my 2005 Mitsubishi Galant (gasoline) last summer. The symptoms you're describing match exactly what I experienced, unusual stalling, hard cold starts, and jerky acceleration. My check engine light was also on. Took it to my regular mechanic, and after running diagnostics, they found incorrect software values for the fuel pump control module. The pump was actually fine, but the ECU wasn't sending proper signals to regulate fuel pressure. They had to reprogram the fuel pump control settings and clear the adaptive values. It wasn't a major repair in terms of parts replacement, but the symptoms were definitely scary while driving. The whole issue was resolved after the software update and recalibration. Car's been running smooth since then. If your symptoms are similar, I'd suggest having the fuel pump control module checked before replacing any hardware. Could save you from unnecessary parts replacement. Hope this helps with your L200!
