Hey, thanks for your insight! It's such a relief knowing I'm not the only one who's had to deal with this. The whole defective cable situation sounds very similar to mine. I can see why it was a pain getting it identified and fixed. About how much did the repair set you back? And have you run into any other problems with the alarm system or the car in general since the fix? Cheers!
Hey, no problem! Yeah, it’s quite a headache when it happens, but thankfully since I got it sorted out by my mechanic, everything has been smooth. To answer your question about the costs, it set me back around 155.00 € for fixing the defective cable connection. But hey, the important part is it got all fixed up! As for your other question, fortunately, I haven't faced any more trouble with the alarm system, or any other parts of the car since that fix. So, all's well that ends well, huh? Hope your repair process goes smoothly as well. Good luck with it! Cheers!
That's quite relieving to hear! Around 155.00 € for peace of mind ain't too bad, all things considered. It's also comforting that you haven't had any further issues after the fix. I guess it's high time I found a trustworthy mechanic to get this cable mess sorted as well. Really appreciate your inputs! Wishing you miles and miles of smooth rides in your Kia. Cheers!
Hey there! So, a few months back I ran into a similar issue with my '98 Kia Sportage. The issue was indeed traced back to a defective cable connection. Turns out it was affecting the communication between the alarm system and the rest of the car, causing the erratic behavior. It was a serious issue because without a properly functioning alarm system, car security can be compromised. My mechanic had to replace the entire cable connection to fix it due to the poor state of the existing one. The whole process was a tad bit troublesome as identifying the issue took some time due to the complexity of modern alarm systems. So, get it looked into ASAP. Make sure to find a mechanic you trust, it makes the whole process that much smoother. Good luck!
