Keyless entry and light problems with Peugeot Bipper Diesel (2009)

Vehicle cannot be unlocked or locked

Dim or flickering lights

Hi guys, I'm struggling with a problem on my Peugeot Bipper Diesel (2009), mileage approx. 138,925 KM. My car can neither be locked nor opened and the lights flicker or are dark. Could be a malfunction of the keyless entry system, right? Have any of you ever had similar symptoms with your car and could possibly give me a tip or share your experience with the garage? To be honest, I really fell flat on my face last time and would like to avoid this. Many thanks in advance!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my Peugeot 308 (2012). In my case it was a defective control unit. It was pretty serious because my car became completely unresponsive. So I went to the garage, they connected the diagnostic device and bam, the fault was there. They had to replace the control unit, which was a pretty big job. It wasn't something you could just overlook or ignore, so you may need to get a professional involved. Luckily, I have a good mechanic who did the job quickly and thoroughly without ripping me off. But definitely get it checked out, it sounds like it could be something serious. Hope this helps you out. Good luck!

Hey, thanks for your input! Then it does seem to be something serious. Do you remember how much it cost you to replace the control unit? And have any other problems arisen in the meantime? I don't really know my way around and would be really annoyed if I fell into a cost trap again.

Of course, I still remember! So replacing the control unit cost me 1000 euros. Since then, however, the problem with the keyless entry system malfunction has also been resolved. In other words, since I've been to the mechanic, everything has been running like clockwork and my Peugeot doesn't make any more noise. But I have to admit that it was a lot of money - 1000 euros is a lot of money. But it's better to have it done properly once and then have peace of mind, than to have constant trouble and even more costs because you drive from breakdown to breakdown, isn't it? I hope this helps you a bit and you find a good solution for your car. Good luck, buddy!

Thank you so much for your honest answer! That's a lot of money, yes, but you're right - better to get it right once than be stressed all the time. I will take your advice and leave my car to a professional to sort it out. At the end of the day, safety is the most important thing, and there are some things it's better not to skimp on. Thanks again, and I hope my car runs as well as yours once it's fixed! Take good care of yourself, buddy!
