Hey thanks for sharing your experience! Yeah mine's at 165944 KM and just had a service last month. Haven't noticed any other electrical gremlins, it's just these weird light issues that started popping up recently. Your situation sounds exactly like what I'm dealing with. Did your mechanic mention how long the repair took? I'm trying to figure out if I need to arrange for a rental car while they fix it.
Hey again! Yeah, no problem! Happy to help. With my QX60, the actual repair wasn't too time-consuming took them about 3-4 hours total. They had to trace the wiring and find that dodgy connection I mentioned, but once they located it, fixing it was pretty straightforward. I was lucky because my mechanic had seen this issue before in Infinitis, so he knew where to look. Since your mileage is pretty close to what mine was when I had the problem (mine was around 158000 KM), it's probably the same issue. I didn't need a rental car dropped it off in the morning and picked it up after lunch. But maybe call your mechanic first and ask? Some shops can be slower if they're backed up or if they need to order parts. BTW, since you mentioned you just had service did they do any work near the headlight area? Sometimes these issues can pop up if something got knocked loose during other work. Just a thought! Let me know how it goes!
Thanks so much for all that detail super helpful! Actually, now that you mention it, they did replace my air filter which is right near the headlight assembly. I'll definitely bring that up when I take it in. Good to know it's likely just a half-day job I'll probably just work from home that day instead of getting a rental. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Will update you once I get it checked out!
Hey there! I had a really similar issue with my 2015 Infiniti QX60 Hybrid (basically the newer version of the JX). The lights were going crazy, turning on unusually, and the switches weren't working properly. Super annoying! Took it to my regular workshop they found a faulty plug connection in the lighting system. Cost me about 222.50€ to get it fixed, but it's been working perfectly since then. What's your mileage and have you noticed any other electrical issues? Might help narrow down if it's the same problem I had. Also, have you had any recent work done on the electrical system? If you want, I can recommend what to look out for when they check your car. Good luck!
