Thanks for the detailed response. My XE has 87505KM on the odometer and the issues started right after the latest service. The 2.0L engine variant definitely shows similar symptoms to what you described. Regarding your questions, fuel consumption has increased noticeably and the rough idle is much worse when the engine is cold. Only the check engine light is illuminated, no other warning lights. The fuel pump makes an unusual whining sound too, which I forgot to mention in my initial post. The similarity to your experience with the fuel pressure sensor wiring is encouraging since it was a relatively straightforward fix. Planning to have the dealer check it since its still under warranty.

Thanks for the additional details. Those symptoms align even more closely with what I experienced with my XF. The whining fuel pump noise is particularly telling, I had the same issue and should have mentioned it earlier. Based on your description of the problems starting after service, I would strongly suspect they may have disturbed the wiring harness during routine maintenance. On my XF, the technician found the wiring connector near the fuel pressure sensor had been slightly dislodged during a previous service. Since your car is under warranty, definitely have the dealer investigate. Make sure to specifically mention: The timing (issues starting post-service), The whining fuel pump sound, The cold-start rough idle symptoms, The increased fuel consumption The good news is the fuel delivery system on these engines is quite robust. In my case, once they fixed the wiring connection, the fuel economy returned to normal and all the drivability issues disappeared completely. Keep tracking the fuel consumption until your dealer appointment. This data can help confirm if the fuel pressure sensor is indeed affecting the fuel delivery system like it did in my case.

Thanks for providing those insights about your XF fuel system repair. The postservice timing of my issues and all the matching symptoms definitely suggest a similar wiring problem. The whining noise from the fuel pump is particularly concerning, especially combined with the engine misfire symptoms and poor fuel economy. Will take it to the dealer next week and have them check the wiring harness and fuel pressure sensor connections. Given that both our cars have the same 2.0L engine and nearly identical issues, I feel more confident about getting this resolved under warranty. I will make sure to document all the symptoms you mentioned, especially the cold start rough idle, increased fuel consumption, and that suspicious timing right after the service. Really appreciate you sharing your repair experience. Nice to know it was a relatively simple fix in your case rather than a major fuel injector or pump issue.

I had a very similar issue with my 2021 Jaguar XF with the 2.0L gasoline engine. As someone with some experience working on cars, I initially thought it was related to the fuel injectors when my check engine light came on and the car developed a rough idle. The symptoms were almost identical, engine stalling at stops and jerky acceleration. Took it to an independent workshop where they diagnosed a loose connection in the wiring harness connected to the fuel pressure sensor. The repair involved testing the electrical connections and replacing a damaged plug. Total cost was 95€ for parts and labor. The fuel economy improved significantly after the fix, and both the rough idle and check engine light issues were completely resolved. Before giving more specific advice, could you share: Which engine variant does your XE have? Are there any other warning lights besides the check engine light? Have you noticed any changes in fuel consumption? Does the problem get worse when the engine is cold or warm? Knowing these details would help determine if your issue is similar to what I experienced with my XF.
