Issues with Starting a 2021 Dacia Spring Electric: Potential Vehicle Lock Problems?

Vehicle starts briefly and goes out again

Car won't start

Hey! I'm having a bit of a problem with my 2021 Dacia Spring Electric. Been noticing the car has been either not starting at all or starts for a sec and then goes out. My gut tells me it could be something to do with the vehicle lock, but I'm far from sure. Anyone encountered something similar, and how did you guys get it fixed? I'd truly appreciate your insights and experiences. Cheers!

Hey there, I reckon I can share some light on your problem. I had a similar issue with my 2019 Dacia Sandero. Usual driver with just some car experience here, nothing too fancy, but yeah, I've had my share of time in the workshops. In my case, the trouble boiled down to improper key programming. Got it fixed at my local garage, cost me about 45 Euro. It worked like a charm afterward and I haven't had a problem since. Just to be sure, could you share more about your vehicle info? Like, does it ever throw any specific error code or behaves weirdly in certain situations? Any additional tidbits could help in providing more accurate advice. Keep us posted!

Hey, thanks for the advice! I'll definitely look into getting the key reprogrammed. It's worth a shot. To answer your question, there are no specific error codes popping up. Just the occasional stutter during ignition. My Dacia's had a good run so far, rolling some 56368 kms without major issues. Just went through the latest service, so this electrical start-up thing is pretty unexpected. I'll keep an eye out for any patterns and keep you all updated. Appreciate the help!

No problem. Glad to offer some help! Your situation sounds a lot like mine used to be. No error codes and occasional stutters. It truly seems like a key programming issue. But also, just a thought arose here, have you checked the battery? Sometimes, when it ages, it might not provide enough power for all the systems, including locking and ignition. Wouldn't hurt to rule it out. Anyway, keep in mind it's generally a good idea to pay attention to unusual behavior in your car's operation. The thing will usually tell you when something's wrong if you listen closely enough, you know what I mean? Keep us posted on what you find out! Cheers and good luck with the troubleshooting!

Cheers! You've been a great help. You know I wouldn't have thought of the battery. Sounds like a good plan to get that checked too, better safe than sorry, right? And yeah, you're spot on about listening to the car. A machine with so many moving parts is always trying to talk to its driver. I'll stay vigilant and update you with the findings. Thanks again, and take care!
