Issues with Heating and Cooling in a 2016 Dacia Lodgy: Possible Faults and Solutions

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Hey! I've got a bit of a puzzler with my 2016 Dacia Lodgy. Lately, it's not cooling or heating up like it should. I'm thinking it could be something with the electric auxiliary heater or maybe some climate control fault, but I'm not sure. Any of you ever run into this problem before? If so, how'd you fix it? What was your experience at the workshop? Hoping to pinpoint the issue here. Cheers!

Hey, had a similar issue with my 2014 Dacia Duster a while back. I ain't no pro, just got bit experience from dealing with my own car issues! Took it to my regular workshop, they diagnosed it as a defective electric auxiliary heater. Had to get it fixed which cost me around 350€. What's the mileage on your Lodgy? And have you noticed any specific conditions when the heating/cooling acts up? More info might help me give you some better advice. Cheers!

Hey, thanks for getting back to me. My Lodgy's mileage is roughly 84281 KM. The heating thing seems unusual, to be honest; sometimes it fires up fine, other times it's like a freezer! Same with the cooling. The weather doesn't seem to affect it, so I'm guessing it could be an electrical fault or something. I'll probably take it to a workshop soon. Your experience gives me a good place to start looking though, so thanks again! Cheers!

No worries happy to help! Seeing as our vehicles are pretty similar, you might be on the right track thinking it's an electrical fault. Good old electrical issues can be real unpredictable, just like what you're describing with your heating and cooling playing up. I remember when I thought it was the climate control system on my Duster, I tried to get the system reset which didn't really do anything - ended up being the electric auxiliary heater like I mentioned earlier. But with those symptoms and your Lodgy's mileage, I'd definitely suggest you to get a complete check of the heating/cooling system at your workshop. They'll be able to diagnose it properly. Also, watch out for any fluid leaking around the passenger seat area. Sometimes a faulty heater core can cause heating problems and also leave a trace. Best of luck with it, and let us know how you get on! Cheers!

Spot on! A full check of the heating/cooling system does seem like the way to go. Plus, I'll certainly keep an eye out for any leaks around the passenger seat too. Really appreciate you sharing your experience, it's making this whole puzzle feel less daunting. Will definitely update you once I've got it checked out. Enjoy the rest of your day, and cheers once again!
