Hey there, Thanks for sharing. It puts my mind at ease knowing I'm not alone on this and it's not catastrophic. Your ordeal with the Ford Focus does seem similar, and I guess that seals the verdict on the quirky carkye quirks - it must be a faulty access control. Sounds like might just be the bloke I need! I'll make sure to pay his 5th Street garage a visit. But before I do that, would it be too cheeky of me to ask how much replacing the access control set you back? Just want to get my piggy bank geared up for the expense. Also, have you noticed any other mechanical gremlins sneaking up on your Focus since then? Thanks a ton, really appreciate it. Cheers!
Hey! No worries, happy to help out a fellow driver in distress. So, about the cost, it did give my wallet a bit of a slimming treatment, but it's all part of car ownership, right? The price tag on that access control fix was a round 390.00 € - that included sorting out those faulty components and a door handle for the comfort access bit. But don't let that number spook you too much, it's a one-off and I reckon there's more peace of mind here than pounds spent. As for other mechanical gremlins, touch wood, but nothing so far. The access control fix seems to have settled things down, kinda like serving a slice of cake to a pack of sugar-starved toddlers, haha. Hope this helps. Just brace for that fix, but remember, it's key (pun intended) to ensure you're not pulling your hair out over a dodgy car door! Good luck with the visit to. Cheers!
Hey! Perfect, knowing the price tag puts things in perspective. Yeah, you're right; a one-off 390€ doesn't sound too brutal, even if my wallet might weep a little! I'd gladly trade that for some night's peace and not worrying about a car with a mind of its own. Great to hear that your Ford's behaving after the fix, that's pretty reassuring. Gave me a bit of a chuckle about the cake and toddlers! I'll keep that metaphor in mind when I meet. Hopefully, the fix would be like a sweet pacifier for my Puma! Again, I genuinely appreciate your guidance in this. Can't express how much it's helped. Now off to brace myself for the meeting with and the upcoming fix. Wish me luck! Thanks again, and have a good one. Cheers!
Hi there I feel you. None of the glitches here and there are enjoyable, right? I just had a bit of a problem with my 2017 Ford Focus, somewhat similar situation. My door handle's comfort access was acting all quirky and funky. I'm talking unlocking randomly - brought me nights of wonder, bet you can imagine. Turned out, it was indeed a faulty access control - door handle assembly, not a different world from your case I reckon. Can't say it was the end of the world though, just a major annoyance, more than anything. I won't be fooling anyone, fixing it needed some under-the-hood work, but thankfully, it wasn't an incredibly complicated procedure. As for a mechanic, I can honestly swear by this bloke. He runs a garage on 5th Street, never gave me a rough deal, and the guy definitely knows his way around Fords. So, chin up it's not the most serious issue you could run into. Hope you sort it out soon. Cheers!
