Issues with 2022 Renault Arkana Hybrid's A/C System Not Cooling or Heating Efficiently

A/C System Not Engaging

Air conditioning blows warm air

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Hey folks, I'm having a bit of a problem with my 2022 Renault Arkana Hybrid. Lately, I noticed that the car isn't cooling or heating as efficiently as before. Plus, the A/C system just doesn't engage at times, and when it does, it blows warm air. I'm suspecting it's the air conditioning but I'm not entirely sure. Have any of you experienced a similar problem? What sort of fixes did your workshop suggest and what was the end result? Any help or shared experiences would be much appreciated!

Hey, I had a similar issue with my 2020 Renault Kadjar, not that different from your Arkana. I'm no car guru, but I think I've picked up a thing or two over the years. In my case, the culprit was also the air conditioning system, more specifically, the individual valves were defective. Took my Kadjar to a local garage and the guys there fixed it up without charging me a dime! Lucky me, eh? Your problem sounds similar, but without knowing more details about your car, it's hard to say for sure. Things like milage, last service, etc could help figure this out. Hope this helps a bit! Cheers!

Hey there! Appreciate the response. My Arkana's clocked in about 194193 km now, had its latest servicing not too long ago. From your experience, it does seem like the A/C could be the troublemaker. I guess I'll have to take it down to the workshop and have them check out the valves. Lucky you got yours sorted without paying a penny, fingers crossed I get that lucky! Thanks again for the input, really helpful! Cheers!

Hey, no worries! Happy to help a fellow Renault owner out. Yeah, with that kind of mileage on your Arkana, it's even more likely the A/C might be acting up. Wear and tear and all that, especially if the A/C hasn't been serviced in a while. From your description again, it does sound like a valve issue like what I had with my Kadjar. The A/C valve regulates the flow of refrigerant through the system. So, if it's defective, that could definitely cause issues with cooling and heating. Just don't forget to make sure to ask the workshop to specifically check the A/C valves. I hope you have the same stroke of luck as I did and don't end up having to pay for this repair. Best of luck with it! And do update us on the forum how it all played out - it could be helpful for someone else. Cheers!

Absolutely, I hadn't thought about the A/C valve, so thanks for pointing that out! I'll definitely request them to check the A/C valves specifically when I take it down. I mostly use my Arkana for daily commuting and road trips, so didn't really get the A/C serviced timely. Lesson learned for the future, eh? I'll keep my fingers crossed for a free repair, you've given me hope. Will absolutely update the forum once it's all sorted. Thanks again for your wisdom! Cheers and take care.
