Issues with 2021 Renault Arkana's Heating and Cooling System: Electric Auxiliary Heater and Climate Control Suspected

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Hey folks, I'm having some trouble with my 2021 Renault Arkana, Gasoline engine. It's not heating or cooling as it should. I'm suspecting something might be up with the Electric auxiliary heater or maybe even the climate control. Has anyone else experienced this and got it fixed? All tips, advice, or shared experiences would really be appreciated. How did your repair shop handle it?

Hey, You're in luck; I've had a similar situation with my 2019 Renault Kadjar, not a million miles off from your Arkana. Now, I'm not an auto whizz, but I do have some hands-on experience with cars. Been through it in my workshop, found out the Electric auxiliary heater was the mischief-maker. The cost to put it straight was about 350 euro - almost gave me a shock! But hey, what can you do, right? What exactly is your car doing, though? Any specific symptoms or weird noises? The more info you can provide, the better we can hash this out! Stay warm (or cool, depending on your climate)!

Hey, Appreciate the response! Sounds like your issue was no small ordeal. As for my Arkana, it's not making any weird noises and there aren't really specific symptoms to speak of. The heat is just kind of vague on colder days and I don't even want to think about the summers. It's just not doing its job like it used to anymore. My mileage at the moment is 112072 km, and I last had it serviced in the autumn of last year. I guess it could be the Electric auxiliary heater but I'm also considering if an overlooked service could be the cause. Any extra thoughts? Cheers!

Hey again, Wow, over 112,000 km, that's respectable! But don't fret, these issues can crop up with age and usage. Honestly, depending on your weather, even the best heaters can sometimes feel insufficient. About your last service, it's entirely possible they may have missed something. Nothing's perfect, right? Next time your Arkana goes for service, have them check if the heater core needs to be flushed. It can get clogged over time and that can hamper the heat output. About your suspicion of the Electric auxiliary heater, it indeed can be a part of the problem. As it happened with my Kadjar, yours too may be failing to assist the main heating system effectively. If it's faulty, it might be exacerbating the problem especially on colder days. Keep an eye on your coolant level too. If it's low, it could be messing with your climate control system. And yeah, a more in-depth inspection of the climate control system itself couldn't hurt either. Worth to get it dug into by a trustworthy mechanic. Hope that's helpful. Rooting for you to get this sorted before summer hits in full swing! Cheers!

Hey, You've put a lot of things in perspective. I hadn't thought about the heater core or the coolant level - I'll definitely bring those up at the service. It's hard being a car owner sometimes, especially when it comes to spotting the little details. But, hey, thankfully helpful individuals like you are around! Your advice has been immensely helpful and led me to consider aspects I wasn't before. I really appreciate your time and the shared advice. Here's hoping everything goes as smoothly as possible before summer rolls around. Eventually, when I get this fixed, I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks a bunch! Cheers!
