Issues with 2012 Hyundai Equus Headlamp Leveller and Warning Light on Speedometer

Headlamp leveller malfunction

|

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hey! I've been having a bit of trouble with my 2012 Hyundai Equus with a Gas engine. Recently, the headlamp leveller started acting up, and a warning light is lit on my speedometer. I'm suspecting that there's some issue with the headlight range control. I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem and how you managed to sort it out at your workshop. Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hey there, I wouldn't call myself a car guru but I've handled some issues on my own rides so I would say I have some experience. I had a similar issue on my 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe it was a headache. Turns out the problem was due to a defective servomotor in the headlight, much like what you're experiencing. Took it to my local mechanic, a cool chap who knows his stuff. After a few hours of tinkering and €1040 less in my wallet, voila! The problem was fixed. Can I ask if you've noticed any peculiar behaviors from your car lately? That might give out more indicators to figure out what's up. Cheers!

Hey! I appreciate your input. It's relieving to know that you’ve faced something similar, helps to narrow it down. Well, that 91353 KM mileage I've got might be starting to show. Now that you mention it, I have noticed that the headlights don't adjust when I load the trunk, which used to happen automatically earlier. I'll probably swing by my local garage this weekend and have them look into the servomotor issue you talked about. Here's hoping it won't blow a huge hole in my wallet, fingers crossed. Cheers to you!

Hey again! Glad to see you found my little ramble helpful. That issue with the automatic headlight adjustment definitely sounds like it might be your servomotor - same thing happened with my Genesis. If your headlights aren't automatically adjusting to the load, the control of the leveller might be at fault. Fingers crossed it's not too costly a fix and you can get it sorted out without maxing out your card. Wishing you the best for your garage visit! Let me know how it goes. Remember, don't let 'em talk you into those 'extra repairs' they always seem to find!

Thanks a ton! Your advice has been aces; I feel a lot more prepared walking into that garage now. I'll be sure to watch out for those "extra repairs" they try to hustle. I'll definitely keep you posted on how things pan out. Cheers and take care!
