Irregular cooling/heating function and mirror de-icing on 2013 Renault Zoe: experience and advice wanted

Mirror doesn't defrost

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Hey guys, I've recently had a problem with my 2013 Renault Zoe, gasoline, with already 72482 km on the clock. The cooling/heating function is acting up and the mirror no longer defrosts as usual. Last time I had real trouble with the garage, so I want to get a second opinion this time. I think the fault lies with the misting sensor. Have any of you had similar problems and what was your experience with the mechanic? I would be grateful for any tips!

Hey, I recently had a similar situation with my 2010 Renault Twingo. In my case it was a faulty cable connection that caused a lot of drama in my car. The functions went crazy and I had problems with the lights and heating, similar to yours. Once they found out at the garage that the cable connection was faulty, they had to repair some and even replace a few. It wasn't really an easy job and it took a long time to fix the problem. But since then everything has been running like clockwork. So yes, you may be right and it is a serious matter. You may need to consult a mechanic to fix the problem.

Hey, thanks for your feedback! Do you happen to have any idea what you paid for the whole repair? Has anything else come up since the repair or is everything running smoothly?

Hi, you've hit the nail on the head. So, in terms of cost, I had to pay €155 to fix the problem with the faulty cable connection. It wasn't exactly cheap, but hey, after that everything ran like clockwork again. Since I've been to the mechanic, the problem with the condensation sensor has also gone away. There have been no further problems and everything works perfectly. Hope this helps you!

Hey, that's really helpful, thanks! Good to know that your repair was successful in the end, even if it was a bit expensive. I'll take your advice to heart and discuss the problem with a mechanic. Thanks again for your helpful tips! Take care!
