Interior blower of the 2016 BMW 1 Series petrol engine not working properly: Exchange of experience and suggestions for solutions wanted

Blower does not work properly

Hello everyone, I have recently had a problem with my 2016 BMW 1 series gasoline engine, mileage 53143 km. The interior blower is somehow not working properly. I had a not so great experience at the last garage visit, so I wanted to get your opinion first. Have any of you had similar problems, possibly a defect in the fresh air blower? How did the workshop visit go? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey, that sounds like the trouble I had with my 2013 BMW 3 Series. I had problems with the interior blower on that too. In fact, it was a pretty serious problem, it turned out that the blower motor needed to be replaced. On my last visit to the garage, they also checked the overall condition of the ventilation system and made some minor adjustments to make sure everything was working well. Your 1 may also have this problem. Hope this helps you.

Hey, thanks for your quick reply! It's great that you also had such problems with the blower. Can you remember what you had to pay to replace the blower motor and check the ventilation system? And has anything like this come up again since then or was it finally sorted?

Hey, of course I still remember the costs. Unfortunately, it wasn't cheap. I spent a whopping €380 to fix the faulty series resistor. But things have been running smoothly since then, and no further blower problems have arisen. So I would definitely advise you to have the fresh air blower checked in the workshop. Better safe than sorry! Hopefully it won't be that expensive for you, but once the defect has been rectified, the blower should be as good as new again. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Hey, thanks again! Uff, that's quite a lot of money, but if it helps, it's probably worth considering. I'm relieved to hear that everything went well for you afterwards. I'll probably pay a visit to my trusted garage and have the whole thing checked out. Keep your fingers crossed that it won't be too expensive! Have a good day and thanks for your help!

Hey Have you ever checked the fuse of the fan motor? I would start there, if it is OK you will probably have to go to the workshop unfortunately.

Hello everyone, I had a similar problem. It turned out that my air conditioning control unit was defective. I read out my vehicle with Carly at the time and was able to narrow it down.
