Thanks for sharing your experience! My QX is at 181,692 km and had its last service about 2 months ago. Haven't noticed any other electrical issues besides what I mentioned, but it's good to know about that cable connection problem you had. Really hoping it's something similarly straightforward and not too expensive to fix. I'll definitely get it checked out soon – would love to get your mechanic's details if they're in my area!
Hey again! Wanted to follow up on this since we're comparing notes. My Q50 was actually around 165,000 km when I had that cable connection issue, so pretty close to where your QX is now. The timing makes sense too these problems tend to show up around this mileage. Just remembered something that might be useful before I got it fixed, I noticed the problem was worse during damp weather. Not sure if you've experienced the same? The mechanic explained that moisture was getting into the damaged cable insulation, which made the symptoms more noticeable. I'm happy to share my mechanic's details they're in the northern part of the city. They really know their way around Infinitis, and their prices are pretty reasonable. Just drop me a DM if you want their contact info. By the way, did you get any error messages on your dashboard? With mine, there wasn't any clear warning until the problem got pretty bad. Just curious if yours is showing similar behavior. Keep me posted on what you find out!
Thanks so much for all this helpful info! Actually, now that you mention it, I have noticed the problem gets worse when it's rainy that definitely confirms what you're saying about the moisture issue. And you're right about the error messages too haven't seen any on the dashboard yet, which was making me a bit unsure about the whole thing. I'll definitely take you up on that mechanic recommendation I'm in the northern part of the city too, so that works out perfectly! Will send you a DM right away for their contact details. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Feels much better knowing this is probably just a common issue at this mileage and not something major. Thanks again for all your help! Will update you once I get it checked out.
Hey there! I actually had a very similar issue with my 2020 Infiniti Q50 last year. The symptoms were exactly like yours unreliable central locking and flickering lights. Turned out the cable connection between the door handle electronics and the control unit was faulty. Took it to my regular workshop, and they diagnosed it pretty quickly. The repair, including parts and labor, cost me around 110€. Fixed the problem completely, and everything's been working perfectly since then. What's the mileage on your QX? And have you noticed any other electrical issues? This info would help me understand if you're dealing with the same problem I had. If you need a reliable workshop recommendation, let me know! Been working with my mechanic for years.
