Thanks for the detailed response! I'm at 189249 KM and just started noticing these issues about a week after my latest service. The symptoms kinda crept up gradually started with just the whining noise, then the shifting got wonky, and finally the ABS light joined the party. No other warning lights at the moment, which is at least one good thing! I'll definitely check about the warranty status hoping I might get lucky like you did with that software fix. Sounds way better than having to deal with major repairs!
Hey there again! After hearing about your mileage and how the issues developed, I'm even more convinced it's similar to what I experienced with my Infiniti. You know, it's interesting that it started after your service mine actually began acting up after a routine maintenance too! I remember being really worried when the whining noise started first, just like yours. The gradual progression of symptoms is exactly how mine played out. At 189K km, you're a bit higher on the odometer than I was (I was around 160K when it happened), but the pattern is super similar. Quick update on my situation since my last reply I've put another 20K km on my car after that software fix, and everything's been running smooth as butter. The dealer told me they've seen this quite a few times, especially with the hybrid models. Something about the control modules getting their signals crossed after regular maintenance. If you're still looking for answers, I'd really recommend getting it to the dealer ASAP. Even if you're out of warranty, at least they can properly diagnose if it's the same software issue. Way better than letting it potentially develop into something worse. Keep us posted on what you find out!
Thanks so much for sharing your follow-up experience! It's actually a huge relief to hear that your car's been running great after the fix, especially with those extra 20K km. You're right about getting it to the dealer ASAP I just called and managed to get an appointment for next Tuesday. The service advisor I spoke with seemed to know exactly what I was talking about when I mentioned the pattern of symptoms, so that's encouraging. Really appreciate you taking the time to share all this info. I was stressing about potentially massive repair costs, but now I'm feeling much more optimistic that it might just be that software issue you mentioned. I'll definitely update this thread once I get the diagnosis from the dealer. Thanks again for helping me out!
Hey there! I've got some experience with hybrid systems, I'd say medium level expertise. Actually, I had a really similar issue with my 2018 Infiniti M Hybrid. When those symptoms hit, I was worried it'd be expensive, but it turned out to be a technical glitch in the dynamic stability control system. The dealer fixed it under warranty just needed a software update and system reset. Didn't cost me anything since it was a known issue. They explained it was triggering false readings which affected both the transmission behavior and ABS system. How many miles on your Q? Are there any other warning lights? Did these symptoms start suddenly or gradually? This info would help me confirm if it's the same issue I dealt with. Worth checking if your car's still under warranty!
