Thanks Tom! You might be onto something there with the swirl flap. I'm at 95377 KM and just had my last service done in March. The symptoms started showing up pretty recently, and they're getting progressively worse. I'll definitely get it checked out ASAP don't wanna risk any engine damage. Hey Mike, Yeah the repair totally fixed everything on my Infiniti M all those annoying symptoms disappeared completely. The swirl flap issue is pretty common on these diesel engines, so I wasn't too surprised when it happened to mine. The actual repair took my workshop about a day dropped it off in the morning and picked it up the next afternoon. They wanted to be thorough and check for any potential damage the broken flap might have caused. Thankfully, there wasn't any in my case since I caught it early. Just to put your mind at ease after the repair, my car's been running like new for the past 18 months. No more check engine light, the power's back to normal, and that annoying hissing and shaking are gone. Your mileage is actually pretty similar to when mine started acting up (I was at around 98,000 KM). One tip though when they do the repair, ask them to check the EGR valve while they're at it.
