Turns out it was also a transmission fluid issue, but in my case, it was a bit more complicated. Had a cracked transmission pan that was causing the leak. The total repair came to about 475€ a bit more than yours but still way better than a full transmission replacement! The mechanic I found was great, really took the time to explain everything. Fixed the pan, did a complete fluid flush, and even caught a couple of minor issues I didn't know about. Just drove it today and wow, what a difference! No more whining, shifts are butter smooth, and that awful grinding noise is completely gone. Really glad I didn't wait any longer to get it fixed.
