Infiniti JX Mirror Defrost Not Working Fix Help Needed
Mirror doesn't defrost

Thanks for sharing your experience! My other mirror works fine, and I'm not getting any signs of heat from the problematic one. My car's at 228216 KM and I just had it serviced last month, but they didn't check the mirrors. I'll definitely have my mechanic check those connections sounds like it could be similar to your issue. Way better if it's just a loose wire rather than having to replace the whole mirror assembly!
Hey again! Same Infiniti QX owner here. Funny enough, my issue happened around the 230,000 KM mark too these things seem to have a schedule of their own, right? Since you mentioned your other mirror is working fine and there's zero heat coming from the problematic one, that's exactly how mine acted up. And the fact that you just had it serviced but they didn't check the mirrors same boat I was in! Regular service doesn't usually include checking mirror connections unless you specifically mention it. Just to add to my earlier experience before I got it fixed, I actually tried checking if the fuse was blown (it wasn't), which might be worth looking at before heading to the shop. But honestly, given how similar your symptoms are to what I dealt with, I'd put money on it being that loose connection I mentioned before. Keep me posted on what you find out! If it turns out to be something different, it'd be good to know for future reference. These Infinitis are great cars, but they do have their quirks!
Thanks so much for all the details! You're right about these Infinitis and their quirks, haha. I'll definitely check the fuse first that's an easy DIY check I can do tonight. If that's not it, I'll take it to my mechanic tomorrow and have them look at those connections you mentioned. It's really reassuring to hear that yours happened around the same mileage and had such a simple fix. I was worried I'd have to shell out big bucks for a whole new mirror assembly! I'll post an update once I figure out what's going on with mine. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience it's super helpful having real-world advice from another Infiniti owner!
Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2010 Infiniti QX Hybrid (I also own an FX). I've got some experience working on cars, nothing too fancy though. When my mirror defrost stopped working, I took it to my regular workshop, Mike's Auto. Turned out it was just a loose cable connection behind the mirror assembly. The plug had worked itself loose over time, breaking the circuit. They had to remove the mirror housing to access it, but it was a pretty straightforward fix. Cost me 155€ total, including labor. Before I can share more specific details could you tell me if you're getting any power to the mirror at all? Does the other side work normally? This would help narrow down if you're dealing with the same issue I had.
