Hey again! Just wanted to update you since my last post, I can confirm it was definitely the battery sensor microprocessor. Got it fixed and my QX60 has been running like a dream! The total came to 315€ for the repair, which included the new sensor unit and labor. Money well spent, if you ask me! It's been about 18 months now since I had it done, and I haven't had a single electrical issue since. No more flickering headlights, no more struggling starts everything's working exactly as it should. The car starts up instantly every time, and all the electrical systems are working perfectly. I was actually quite relieved it wasn't anything more serious. My Infiniti specialist really knew their stuff with hybrid systems, and they sorted it out in no time. If you're still looking for a fix, I'd say go for it it's totally worth getting it done properly rather than letting it potentially cause more problems down the line. Let me know if you need any other info! Always happy to help out a fellow Infiniti owner.
Thanks for following up! Finally got my car back from the mechanic yesterday you were spot on! Took it to an Infiniti specialist across town (glad I asked here first). They diagnosed the same battery sensor issue you mentioned. Bill came to around 340€, slightly more than what you paid, but I'm not complaining since everything's working perfectly now. The whole process was super smooth dropped it off in the morning, got it back same day. The mechanic walked me through everything they did, even showed me the old sensor. Honestly, such a different experience from my last mechanic! Started her up this morning and wow what a difference! No more flickering lights, and she purrs to life instantly. Should've done this weeks ago instead of worrying about it. Really appreciate everyone's help here. If anyone else runs into similar issues with their JX, I can definitely recommend getting the sensor checked first. Thanks again for steering me in the right direction!
Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2015 Infiniti QX60 Hybrid last winter. The symptoms were exactly like yours flickering headlights and sluggish starts. Turned out it was indeed the battery sensor microprocessor. When I took it to the dealer, they ran a full diagnostic and found that the sensor wasn't correctly reading the battery's charge state, causing the charging system to malfunction. It wasn't just a simple battery issue the faulty sensor was making the whole electrical system behave erratically. The repair involved replacing the complete battery sensor unit. It's a serious issue because it can potentially leave you stranded if not addressed, and it can also damage other electrical components over time. The job took about half a day at my usual Infiniti specialist. If you're in this situation, I'd strongly recommend going to an authorized Infiniti dealer or a specialist who's certified to work on hybrid systems. Regular mechanics might miss the complexity of the hybrid electrical system. Best of luck with the fix!
