Thanks for sharing your experience! My mileage is at 95527 KM and had my last service just two months ago. Actually, I've been noticing some other weird electrical stuff too my power windows have been acting up occasionally, and sometimes the infotainment system takes longer than usual to boot up. Starting to think we might be dealing with the same issue. Did your mechanic mention how long these emergency call batteries typically last? Just trying to figure out if the timing makes sense for a replacement.
Hey again! Yeah, those symptoms definitely sound familiar mine was doing the exact same dance with the windows and infotainment system before I got it fixed. I actually asked my mechanic about the lifespan of these emergency call batteries because I was curious too. He told me they typically last about 8-10 years, so with your 2013 model, you're right in that replacement window. Fun fact when mine started acting up, I was at around 98,000 KM, pretty close to where you are now. The thing with these Infiniti hybrids (and I learned this the hard way) is that the emergency call battery is kind of like a backup system, but when it starts failing, it can mess with the car's entire electrical system. It's weird how one small battery can cause so many issues! Tell you what if you decide to get it checked out, make sure they test both the main battery and the emergency call battery. Sometimes mechanics jump straight to replacing the main battery when it's actually the emergency call one causing all the trouble. Saved me some cash knowing this beforehand! Let me know how it goes I'm curious if it turns out to be the same issue. These Infinitis are great cars, but they do have their quirks!
Thanks so much for all the detailed info this is exactly what I needed! Your experience with the same symptoms at similar mileage really helps confirm my suspicions. I'll definitely make sure to mention both batteries when I take it in for service this weekend. You've probably saved me some time and money by sharing your knowledge about the emergency call battery specifically. I really appreciate you taking the time to share all these details and tips. I'll update the thread after I get it checked out, just in case someone else runs into the same problem with their JX or QX60 hybrid. Thanks again for your help!
Hey there! Yeah, I had a super similar issue with my 2015 Infiniti QX60 Hybrid (basically the successor to the JX). I have some experience working on cars, but this was definitely a workshop job. The emergency call system battery was completely dead on mine, causing all sorts of electrical gremlins dimming lights, weak starts, the works. Took it to my regular mechanic who spotted it right away. Cost me about 110 Euro to replace and fix up, and everything's been running smoothly since. What's your mileage and have you noticed any other electrical issues? Might help pinpoint if we're dealing with the same problem.
