Infiniti JX False Tire Pressure Alerts: Sensor Issue?
Tire pressure to low

Thanks for the detailed response! Yeah, it's been happening for about 2 weeks now, and it's specifically showing low pressure for the front right tire. I've had my JX since it was almost new, currently at 124093 KM, and this is the first time I'm seeing this issue. Last service was just three months ago, and they didn't mention anything about the sensors. I'm leaning towards your theory about the TPMS sensor battery. Guess it's about time they need replacing at this age. I'll get it checked out at my local Infiniti dealer. Really appreciate the cost estimate helps me know what to expect!
Hey again! Yeah, that front right tire warning definitely sounds like what I dealt with. When mine started acting up, it was also just one tire at first, then a second one joined the party a few months later. I forgot to mention in my first reply on my QX60, I initially tried resetting the TPMS system (you know, that button in the glove box?) thinking it might help, but nope, the warning kept coming back. Looking at your mileage (mine was around 115000 KM when it happened), it's pretty much the typical lifespan for these sensors. Good call on going to the Infiniti dealer. While my regular shop did a decent job, I later found out that programming these hybrid TPMS sensors can be a bit tricky. The dealer might be a few bucks more expensive (my paid around 350€ at the dealer for the same job), but they've got all the right equipment. Let me know how it goes! I'm curious if your repair bill ends up being similar to what I paid. These Infinitis are great cars, but those sensors can be annoying sometimes!
Thanks so much for all the extra info! Yeah, I actually tried that reset button trick too last week no luck here either. It's really helpful knowing that you went through the exact same thing. I've got my appointment scheduled with the Infiniti dealer for next Tuesday. I'll probably have them replace all the sensors while they're at it, since like you said, if one's going, the others probably aren't far behind. The price difference between the dealer and regular shop isn't too bad considering their expertise with these tricky hybrids. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience definitely made me feel better about the whole situation. I'll be sure to update the thread after the dealer visit in case anyone else runs into the same issue! Thanks again!
Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2014 Infiniti QX60 Hybrid (basically the successor to the JX). I have some experience working on cars, but sensors can be tricky. My QX showed the same false warnings even though tire pressure was spot-on. Took it to my regular workshop, and it turned out the TPMS sensor battery was dead in one wheel. Had all sensors checked while it was there smart move since they typically die around the same time. Total cost was about 280€ (with labor and parts). Quick question how long has this been happening, and is it showing low pressure for a specific tire or all of them? Might help narrow down if you're dealing with the same issue. BTW, if you also have an Infiniti, I'd recommend checking with a dealer or certified shop since these hybrid models can be a bit finicky with their sensors.
