Thanks for sharing your experience! That's really helpful info. Had something very similar happen with my G too, and it sounds like we dealt with the same kind of problem. Just wondering do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the repair? And has everything been working smoothly since then, or have you run into any other issues? I'm trying to figure out if I should expect more problems down the line.
Hey again! Yes, absolutely! I just got my M35 back from the shop last week actually. The total bill came to 235€ for fixing the CAN BUS/MOST bus issue, which was actually less than I expected given how complex these systems can be. I'm happy to report that since the repair, everything's working perfectly no more error messages about control device communication problems! The nav system, radio, and climate controls are all back to normal. The specialist really knew what they were doing, and it shows in the quality of the repair. It's been about 10 days now since the fix, and I haven't had a single problem. I've been keeping a close eye on it, but honestly, once these communication bus issues are properly fixed, they tend to stay fixed. The key is getting someone who really knows these Infiniti systems to do the work. Let me know if you need any other info happy to help!
Thanks so much for all the details! Just got back from the mechanic myself today. You were spot on about needing a specialist I ended up taking it to an Infiniti-certified shop across town. The issue was indeed similar to yours, and they found a break in the fiber optic ring. Total cost was around 280€, bit more than yours but still reasonable considering the work involved. They had to order a special part which took an extra day, but the actual repair only took about 4 hours. The mechanic walked me through everything they did, which I really appreciated. Everything's working perfectly now nav screen is bright and clear, and all the controls are responding like new. Such a relief! Really glad I asked here and got your advice about finding a specialist. Definitely saved me from wasting time with regular mechanics who might not have known how to handle these specific Infiniti issues. Thanks again for your help! Will definitely keep this shop in mind for any future problems.
Hey there, I had a similar issue with my 2007 Infiniti M35. The navigation system went completely dark, and it turned out to be a MOST bus communication failure. I took it to a specialist after my regular mechanic couldn't figure it out. The fiber optic ring that connects the nav system to other modules was damaged. Had to get the entire MOST bus system diagnosed and repaired. It was pretty serious since it affected multiple systems radio, climate display, and navigation all went haywire. The tech had to use special equipment to find the break in the communication line. Got it fixed at a shop that specializes in Infiniti/Nissan electronics. Took them about two days to sort it out completely. These communication bus issues aren't something every mechanic can handle you need someone with proper diagnostic tools and experience with Infiniti systems specifically. Hope this helps point you in the right direction. Look for a shop with Infiniti certification if you can.
