Infiniti EX Transport Mode Troubles? Fix Tips Inside

Some functions in the vehicle are not available

Hey everyone, having some weird issues with my 2012 Infiniti EX Diesel (34,252 KM). The dashboard is showing a warning light, and several functions aren't working. I suspect it might be stuck in Transport Mode, but I'm a bit hesitant to take it to the dealer after a previous bad experience. Has anyone dealt with similar symptoms? Any recommendations for a reliable mechanic who's familiar with Infiniti's Transport Mode issues? Would really appreciate some advice on this! Thanks!

Hey there, I had a similar issue with my 2015 Infiniti QX50 Diesel last month. After getting a jump start, my car showed multiple warning lights and several electronic features stopped working properly. Took it to my trusted mechanic who diagnosed it as a failing battery causing voltage drops, which triggered the car's safety systems. The main problem wasn't actually Transport Mode it was the battery management system getting confused after the jump start. My mechanic had to reset the entire system and replace the battery, as the old one wasn't holding charge properly anymore. The whole job took about half a day. This can be a serious issue if not addressed, as it can potentially damage other electronic components in the car. If you're not comfortable with the dealer, look for an independent mechanic who specializes in Infiniti vehicles and has the right diagnostic equipment. They'll need to have access to proper diagnostic tools to reset the systems. Hope this helps!

Thanks for sharing your experience! That's pretty much what happened with mine too. I had my trusted mechanic look at it and it was indeed the battery causing all those crazy warning lights. How much did the whole thing cost you if you don't mind me asking? And has everything been working fine since the fix? Just wanna make sure I won't run into any other issues down the road.

Hey again! Yeah, I'm happy to report that everything has been working perfectly since I got it fixed. The total bill came to €45.00 pretty reasonable considering they had to jump-start the car and reset all those systems. The Transport Mode issue that was causing those warning lights is completely gone now. My QX50 is running like a charm all the electronic features are back to normal, and I haven't seen a single warning light since. It's been about three weeks now, and honestly, it feels like a different car. The mechanic explained that once they got the battery situation sorted and reset everything, there was no reason to expect any further problems. Just make sure your mechanic does a proper system reset after fixing the battery issue that's really key to getting everything back to normal. Trust me, it's worth getting it done right! Let me know if you need anything else!

Thanks so much for the follow-up! I actually just got back from the mechanic today. You were right the fix was pretty straightforward and affordable. My bill came to €52.00, just a bit more than yours. The mechanic did a great job explaining everything and made sure all systems were properly reset. It's such a relief to see my dashboard back to normal without those annoying warning lights! The car's running perfectly now all the electronics are working like they should. You know, it's funny how something as simple as a battery issue can cause so much stress, but I'm glad I didn't go straight to the dealer. Would've probably cost me three times as much! Really appreciate everyone's help on this. If anyone else runs into similar issues with their Infiniti, I definitely recommend getting it checked by a reliable independent mechanic first. Mine definitely knew what he was doing! Thanks again for all the advice!
