Inefficient Heating/Cooling in '17 Nissan Quest: Seeking Auxiliary Heater or Cli Control System Insights

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Hey there, folks! I've been having a bit of a weird issue with my '17 Nissan Quest - gasoline engine, about 129820 KM on it. It doesn't heat or cool as efficient as it should. I suspect the electric auxiliary heater or something up with the cli control system. Last trip to a mechanic was a nightmare, so looking to get some armchair diagnosis before I take it in. Who else had such problems and how did your mechanic handle it? Cheers in advance!

Hey, I feel ya. I drive an '14 Nissan Altima and had a similar issue not long ago. Mine wasn't heating up quick in the colder months. Turned out you nailed it - it was the electric auxiliary heater that was acting up! The mechanic had to replace the whole thing. It wasn't a minor fix, but seemed quite common for cars around our mileage. Don't stress too much though, once replaced, I haven't had any such trouble again since then. And yeah, it does sound like the cli control system might be involved too, so a proper diagnostics is necessary. So listen, the best advice I can give ya is to get it checked as soon as you can to keep everything running smoothly. Hope this helps ya out just a bit!

Ah, that's a bummer! So it was the auxiliary heater, just as I thought... I appreciate you sharing your experience with me. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and get it checked soon. If you don't mind me asking, do you remember the ballpark figure you were charged for the replacement? And have you faced any other similar issues since the fix? Thanks again!

Hey, no problem, always happy to help another car lover! So yeah, to fix the electric auxiliary heater on my Nissan, it set me back about 350€. And to answer your second question, since the repair, I've sailed pretty smoothly - no other similar issues, man. Definitely worth the cost for the comfort. You take care of it and she'll take care of you! Hope this sets your mind at ease a bit.

Right on! I was worried it'd cost an arm and a leg, but €350 sounds pretty reasonable for a smoother ride. Really glad to hear that you haven't had any other problems since the fix. You have definitely put my mind at ease. I'll get my Quest checked out pretty soon then. Thanks for your help and advice. Here's to trouble-free driving! Take it easy!
