Inconsistencies with the tire pressure display in the 2019 Ford Ranger: experiences and solutions wanted

Hi guys, I have a small problem with my 2019 Ford Ranger, gasoline engine with now 124744 km mileage. The tire pressure indicators are flickering and reporting low pressure. I suspect that it is due to the tire pressure sensors (signal error?). Have any of you ever had a similar problem and can give me tips on what I could do? In particular, I would be interested to know what your experiences with the mechanic/approaches to solving this issue were. Thanks in advance and best regards!

Summary of the thread

A 2019 Ford Ranger owner is experiencing flickering tire pressure indicators and suspects a signal error with the tire pressure sensors. A similar issue was resolved in a 2016 Ford F350 by replacing the defective tire pressure monitoring system control unit, which was sending incorrect signals. The suggested solution is to consult a mechanic to determine if the control unit needs replacement, as this resolved the issue in the F350 without further problems.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hi, sounds like the same problem I recently had with my 2016 Ford F350. The tire pressure monitoring system control unit was defective. The symptoms were very similar to yours. Somehow the control unit was sending the wrong signals to the display, a signal error. At first I thought it was no big deal, but it was more serious than expected. In the end, the garage had to completely replace the control unit because it was beyond repair. It was annoying, no question. But since the repair, nothing flashes anymore and the tire pressure is displayed correctly. Perhaps you should ask your mechanic whether this could be the case for you. Best regards!

Hi, thanks for your reply. With your experience, it almost sounds like I have the same problem with my Ford Ranger. As it seems to have been a major repair for you, do you happen to remember how much you forked out for it? And did everything work fine afterwards or were there any additional problems that cropped up? Many thanks and best regards!

Hi, that's right, you may well have the same problem. So, the repair cost me a total of €355. Not exactly a bargain, is it? That was just to fix the defect in the tire pressure monitoring system control unit. But since then, the tire pressure sensor signal error has been rectified and everything is working like clockwork again, without any further problems. So it drives like a new car again, you could say. Good luck with your Ranger! Best regards!

Hi, thanks for the information. 355 is a bit more than I was hoping to spend, but if it solves the problem and gets my Ford Ranger running like new again, then it's definitely worth the money! I will talk to my mechanic and see what he thinks. Thank you so much for your help and advice. I really appreciate it. Regards!
