Hey there, quite the tricky situation you got with your Tarraco! I had a similar problem with my car last year as well, so I feel your pain. I thought it might be the ignition switch, too, but it was the darned wiring harness, same as mentioned. Had it replaced and haven't had an issue since. By the way, do you remember how much you had to fork out for fixing the whole thing? And has anything else cropped up since? Just out of curiosity, ya know, so I can prepare myself in case I cross paths with the same issue down the road. Thanks in advance!
Hey there! Yeah, that ignition starter switch fiasco sure had me in fits, but good to say it's all sorted now. Ever since the mechanic had a look, my Seat has been purring like a kitten, no more ignition issues! As for the wiring harness nightmare, I remember coughing up around 95€. I know, it may sound like a pretty penny but trust me, totally worthwhile. Gave me peace of mind knowing that I wouldn't have to face the same troubles again. Ever since the fixes, I've had pretty smooth sailings with my reliable old beast. So don't worry! If you ever find yourself in this sort of pinch, know that it's manageable. And doesn't really hit too hard on the wallet either! Cheers!
Cheers for the replies! I seriously appreciate the insight, and it sounds like I might be dealing with a similar situation here. Funny how it can seem like one thing, but it's often something else entirely, huh? Thankful to hear that it shouldn't be too devastating on my wallet. That's always a relief! I'll have my mechanic check out the wiring harness ASAP. Fingers crossed, we get this sorted quickly. Your experiences give me hope that my old Tarraco can keep ticking for a good while yet. Thanks a ton and drive safely, guys!
Hey, I reckon it could be the wiring harness that's causing the problem. I faced similar issues with my 2015 Seat Leon, petrol engine. The engine refused to start one chilly morning, got me puzzled for a bit. The issue wasn't with the ignition switch as I originally thought. Turned out to be a faulty wiring harness that was messing things around. When I took it to the garage, they ran some diagnostics and quickly spotted the dodgy harness. They changed it and all those starting issues were sorted in no time. It’s a crucial bit of kit that connects all the electrical parts in your vehicle, so even a minor snag can cause serious headaches like this. So yeah, get your wiring harness checked. A good mechanic should be able to handle it, no sweat. Don't fret too much, as it's not an uncommon issue. Good luck!
