Hey, thanks for the helpful answer. Did you have any other problems after replacing the ignition starter switch or was everything really OK again? And what costs did you have to expect, do you have any idea?

Hey, all clear! After the Meyer from my trusted mechanic repaired the fault on the ignition starter switch, everything ran as smoothly as lubricating oil on a hot exhaust! No more problems since the repair. The repair of the broken fuse cost us about €52. That was okay, I think. Hopefully you'll get your Skoda back on the road again soon, mate! Good luck with that!

Great, thank you! That gives me a feeling of what I might have to expect. It's reassuring to hear that everything went smoothly for you after the repair. I think I'll pay my mechanic another visit and hope he does a better job this time. Your experience has really helped. Thanks again and have a safe journey!

Hello, I had similar problems with my 2015 Skoda Superb Diesel. My ignition starter switch also broke. The symptoms were almost identical: the ignition wouldn't activate and the car simply wouldn't start. It had to be replaced. It was a serious matter because without starting the car, I couldn't drive anywhere. My mechanic replaced the switch and everything was fine again. Hope that helps you a bit. Good luck!
