Hey, thanks for the response. It's good to hear that it worked out for your Kia Carens. Gives me a bit of hope for my stubborn Joice. Do you remember, by any chance, how much it cost you to sort out this sensor issue? Also, have you run into any related problems since the fix? Just trying to figure out what I might be in for!

Hey! Always glad to help out a fellow Kia owner. Since I saw my mechanic last, my Carens has been running like a dream, no more ignition or lock troubles. And yes, I remember the cost for fixing the Insertion slot defective was around 290 bucks (€, to be precise). Anyway, for me, it was definitely worth every penny. No problems or speed bumps since then. So I reckon you shouldn't worry too much!

That's really helpful! I'm hoping my Kia won't bleed my wallet dry. Thanks a ton for all the info, made my evening a bit less stressful. I'll head to my mechanic soon and cross my fingers that this sensor issue gets sorted out quickly. Cheers!

Hey there, I think you're on the mark with that Ignition key Hall sensor hunch. I have a 2005 Kia Carens, pretty similar to your Joice, and I've confronted quite the identical trouble a few months back. My cruiser was behaving all sorts of wonky, stubborn just like yours to start up every so often. And just like you thought, my mechanic pointed it to a faulty Ignition key Hall sensor. But it wasn't any doomsday scenario, you know. They just swapped it out and the ride has been smooth ever since. The lock issues and warning light sorted themselves out as well. So, no need to stress. Just have your lad take a look at the sensor. Could be a easy-fix, worst case you may need to replace it. Good luck with it!
