Hey there. This is all sounding quite familiar given the troubles I've been having with my Hyundai Venue. Your experience with the Wiring harness seems to line up with what I'm currently dealing with. After you got yours replaced, could you recall the approximate cost you had to shell out? Also, since getting it fixed, have you stumbled across any other related problems? Apologies for the flood of questions, but I'm trying my best to avoid another ordeal at the garage. Cheers!
Hey no worries at all! Pestering the mechanic did me a whole lot of good actually. The problem was indeed in the glow control unit, just like we suspected. After this got sorted, let me tell you, it drives like brand spanking new! I did have to part with 155.00 € for the mess. They had to replace the good old wiring harness that connects the glow control unit with the digital diesel electronics, which seemed to have taken a hit. But since then, my Tucson's been running smooth as silk, no smoke, no shudders, and starts up fine even when old Jack frost is nipping at your nose, if you get what I mean! So, fingers crossed, no more garage adventures for me in the near future! Anyway, hang in there! This looks like a one off and you should be good once it's sorted. Cheers!
Hey! Well, that's a relief! It's great to hear that the trouble was indeed in the glow control unit and the solution was just a wiring fix. Thanks for sharing the cost, I have a basic idea of what I'll need to spend now. The peace of mind that comes with smooth drives and no-shutter starts is definitely worth the 155.00 €! Also, it's a bit comforting to hear that you haven't faced any more related glitches. Let's hope that continues! It's been brilliant to get your opinion - you've definitely set my mind at ease. Appreciate your guidance I'll dive into this with a much calmer mindset. Fingers crossed for a trouble-free fix at the garage! Cheers!
Hey there, Your guess isn't off base. Your description rings a bell. Just a few months back, I had similar problems on my 2019 Hyundai Tucson diesel. Emitting black smoke, trouble starting, the whole nine yards. Turns out, the Wiring harness from the glow control unit to the digital diesel electronics was defective. It can happen, and it throws the entire system into chaos. In my case, it was causing insufficient heat for the glow plugs, making it buck like a bronco at idle and not start at all on some frosty mornings. No need for panic, though. Once the fault was nailed down, it was just a matter of swapping out the faulty wiring harness for a new one. Post repair, the old girl hums smoothly, fires up without an issue, and there hasn't been a whiff of smoke since. As for a mechanic, can't recommend one without knowing where you're based. But just look for someone who specializes in digital diesel electrics. They should be able to troubleshoot and fix this problem without breaking a sweat. Hope this helps. Hang in there!
