Hey there! Dude, your story sounds frighteningly similar to what I'm dealing with right now. It never occurred to me that the shaky steering and the ABS/DSC issues could all be linked to a faulty cable connection in the power steering assembly. It's quite mind-blowing when you think about it! Now, just to wrap my head around things, do you remember how much it cost you to get this sorted out? And since then, did you face any other related issues or was it smooth sailing? Thanks for sharing can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate it. Hoping to get my Veloster back on the road ASAP.
Hey! Spot on, the issues you're experiencing can indeed have a single root cause, it's surprising but true! To answer your question, getting the cable connection/plug connection sorted set me back around 155.00 €, but totally worth it to have the car running smoothly again. After the fix, I have had zero issues related to the power steering, or those shaky wheel symptoms. The electric power steering signal error completely disappeared post the mechanic's intervention. It's been pretty smooth sailing ever since, fingers crossed it stays that way! Always happy to lend a helping hand! You get your Veloster checked out, she'll be back on the road in no time. Cheers!
Hi again! Hearing that you've not had any issues since then gives me so much relief! With that price, I totally agree that it's worth getting everything in order ASAP. Wouldn't want to take chances with safety, and surely it's a price to pay for the peace of mind. Thanks a bunch for your wisdom and words of encouragement. I'm definitely heading to a mechanic to check out those connections. I can't wait to have my Veloster back in shape. Take care, happy cruising! Cheers!
Hey! I've got a similar story for you. I've got a 2015 Hyundai Elantra and I faced the same set of issues last year. The issue was indeed related to the electric power steering signal error, and you're spot on with your gut feeling. Turned out, it was a problem with the cable connection/plug connection being defective. Essentially, in my car, the cable connection inside the power steering assembly was loose. It seems like a minor issue but it can cause major problems like the ones you're experiencing. The problems you've got with your ABS/DSC and power steering, those shaky steering wheel movements, all of it can be linked to this. So yeah, when I faced this problem, my mechanic did a thorough checking of all the connections in my car's power steering assembly. After identifying the problem area, he took care of it by securing the connections back in place properly. I have to say, this was some serious stuff. Messing around with these seemingly small issues can end up being really unsafe in the end. Definitely get it down to a garage and get those connections checked up and if possible, rectified. Hope your Veloster gets well soon. It's a sweet ride, don't let her down!
