Hyundai Tucson 2019 DPF Regen Failure and Speedometer Warning Light: Seeking Experiences and Solutions

DPF regeneration failure

Check engine light on

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hey! Got a puzzler here with my 2019 Hyundai Tucson, diesel, clocked about 120k km. Check engine light's on, got a DPF regen fail and a warning light in the speedo. I'm thinking it might be low Ad-Blue system pressure. Last mechanic visit didn't go great, so I'm hoping to get some insights from other who've had similar problems. Any thoughts or experiences appreciated, especially on how your mechanic dealt with this. Thanks!

Hey there! Sounds so familiar. I've got an 2020 Hyundai Tucson, also diesel. Just few months ago, same symptoms - check engine light, DPF regen issue. Initially, I also thought it was an Ad-Blue problem. Turned out, it was a faulty Ad-Blue tank - not something you could easily overlook, know what I mean? My mechanic ran a few system checks and found some weak component inside the tank that was messing with the pressure of the system. Ultimately, it was a replacement job. He swapped out the defective Ad-Blue tank with a new one, reset the engine codes, ran a few more tests and it was all good to go. The device does a job maintaining your engine's emission, so yeah you could call it a serious issue in that sense. But if resolved promptly, it shouldn't give you a major headache. Hope this helps. Good luck with yours!

Heya! That insight's particularly helpful! My Tucson's showing similar signs and the odd Ad-Blue system pressure issue does seem to be the culprit. Hadn't thought the tank could be at fault though, so that's a proper heads up. Finances are dire straits for me at the mo, so ballparking it, what kind of dough did you need to part with for that tank replacement? Additionally, since getting that sorted, has any other glitch popped up? Cheers!

Hey! I totally get the financial concerns, been there. To cut to the chase, replacing the dodgy Ad-Blue tank cost me a pretty penny, about 1620.00 € to be precise. As for anything else playing up post-tank-swap, so far so good. The initial issue with the Ad-Blue system pressure too low was sorted with the new tank and my Hyundai hasn't shown any other oddball signs since then! Hope this smooths out any wrinkles in your car worries! Good luck with your Tucson!

Crickey! That's a hefty chunk of cash, more than I was bracing for. If that's the ticket though, got to bite the bullet, eh? Encouraging to hear the new tank seems to have solved the problems though. Really appreciate the deets and advice. This has given me a good heads up to take to the garage - I'll be making a pit stop there this week. So, fingers crossed mine goes as smoothly as yours did. Cheers for the hand!
