Hyundai Sonata '13 Massage Seat Feature Malfunction: Potential Switch Issue?

Massage seat without function

Hey all, I've got a problem with my '13 Hyundai Sonata (gasoline engine, around 66,736kms on the clock). The massage seat feature just decided to stop working one day. Anybody else had this issue and reckon it could be the switch? Had a less than stellar experience with my past mechanic, so I'm keen to get a sense of what I'm dealing with. Cheers!

Hey there, Yeah I've had a similar issue on my '16 Hyundai Elantra. My issue was traced back to a defective cable connection/plug for the massage seat feature. It just suddenly stopped working, much like yours. Don't worry though, it was not a serious safety issue, more of an inconvenience. Just took it to my local garage and they sorted it out for me. They needed to replace the faulty cable and plug. But remember the actual repair might vary based on your situation. Sounds like your switch connection might be the problem too. You should probably get it checked out at a reputable garage. Hang in there, hope this helps! Cheers!

Hey! Thanks a ton for the insight, that gives me a bit of peace of mind. Just to get an idea, could you tell me roundabout what it cost you to fix the cable and plug issue? And have you noticed any related issues creep up since you had it sorted? Cheers!

Hey! No worries! Always glad to help out. Like I mentioned, turned out to be a cable connection/plug problem for me. The at my garage sorted it out and it came to about 95.00 €. I reckon it's a fair price, considering they pretty much restored my beloved ride's massaging powers! And to answer your second question: since the fix, it's been smooth riding. The massage seat switch has been working like a charm. Not a single problem since then. The switch was indeed the issue, and once that got sorted, it was all good! Hope you get yours sorted without much hassle, too. Safe driving! Cheers!

Hey! Ah, that's a relief to hear! Thanks a ton for taking the time to share your experience. I'll be taking my Sonata down to the local garage to get it checked out as soon as I can, fingers crossed it's as simple a fix as yours was. You've single-handedly boosted my confidence in sorting this out - appreciate your help! Drive safe! Cheers!
