Hyundai Palisade 2020 Exhibiting Transmission Issues and Unusual Noises

Transmission slips/shifts erratically

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Grinding noise when shifting gears

Hey! I'm really hoping someone might be able to shed some light on a concern I've got with my 2020 Hyundai Palisade. She's got 22,380 km under her belt, powered by gasoline. Recently, the car's been acting strange – transmission's off (slipping and shifting weird), there's this gnarly grinding noise when shifting gears, and there's a caution light on the speedo. I'm no mechanic, but my hunch is that it's possibly a fault in the transmission oil pressure sensor. Had a bad experience the last time I took her into a mechanic, so I thought I'd put out some feelers here before I dive into another potential nightmare. Anyone experienced something similar or dealt with dodgy mechanics? Appreciate any info you can share!

Hey there! Really sounds like you're in a tough spot. I've got a 2017 Hyundai Tucson, and I experienced something similar last year. My car was acting up, shifting was off, and that darn light was on the dash as well. After taking it in, turns out my transmission oil level was too low. The guys at the garage had to top it off and clean the system because the low level had allowed some gritty particles to get into the transmission. Not wanting to scare you, but yeah, it ended up being a relatively serious issue. Apparently, the transmission can overheat and get damaged if it's not lubricated properly. Didn't really get into any major trouble because I didn't wait too long to get it checked out, and I'd suggest you do the same. Your case could be different, but it's always worthy checking the simple stuff out first before moving onto the complex possibilities like a messed-up oil pressure sensor. Hang in there. Hope I've shed some light on the situation.

Hey there! Thanks for sharing your experience. It's definitely put some points on the board for getting my Palisade into the shop ASAP... don't want my girl overheating on me. Just curious, if you don't mind me asking, do you remember how much it set you back to get your Tucson fixed up? Also, was the topping off and cleaning the only hitch you had to deal with or did something else come up since? Appreciate all the help.

Hey! Pretty anxious times it sounds like, but I feel you. When I took my Tucson in the last time, they took care of the whole transmission oil mess for me. Since then it was as if my car was reborn, totally sorted out the transmission oil pressure sensor malfunction and all that. There's been no drama ever since, fingers crossed. As for the costs, it came to about 365 Euro to fix the whole transmission oil level being too low issue along some other things. Sure, it was a bit of a sting to my wallet, but it doesn't even come close to the cost of a full-on transmission damage. Hope that eases your mind a little. Don't sweat it too much!

Hey! Yeah, it's pretty nerve-racking but I appreciate your reassurance. I reckon an expense amounting to 365 Euro isn't too bad considering a full-blown transmission repair would hit the pocket way harder. Thanks for being so candid about your own experience! It really helps to get a level perspective on this whole situation. Gonna get my Palisade into the shop and get this transmission oil level checked out pronto. And if all goes well, I'll be back on the road drama-free just like you are with your Tucson. Fingers crossed! Thanks again for all your help.
