Hyundai ix35 '19 Model: Seeking Advice on Faulty Nav, Audio Systems, and Interior Light

Audio system is not working

|

Navigationssystem is not working

Hey! Having a bit of trouble with my '19 Hyundai ix35, Gasoline engine, clocked around 87,108 KM. The nav and audio systems have gone kaput outta nowhere. And I've got a hunch that it might have something to do with a faulty interior light. Anybody faced a similar issue before? Keen to know your experience with your mechanic, cause my last visit was... let's just say, less than great. Any advice would be top-notch. Cheers!

Hey! I totally get where you're coming from with your ix35 troubles. I've got a '16 Hyundai Tucson myself, it's a solid ride. Had quite a similar issue last summer though, with the infotainment system and interior light. After I did some of my own tinkering and fruitless head-scratching, I took it to my mechanic. Turns out, these two systems share some electrical connections and one of the wires within the assembly was damaged. The situation threw a spanner in the works because the infotainment system and the interior lighting were both affected. So, this might not be a straightforward bulb swap for you. According to my experience, the mechanic needed to weed out the dud wire and replace it. It wasn't a major engine breakdown scenario, but not something that you'd fix on your driveway with basic hand tools either. End of the day, I'd say your best move would be to get a competent electrician or mechanic to check it out. Would save you a lot of time and heartache. Good luck to ya!

Hey there, thanks for sharing your experience. Sounds like you had quite the electrical escapade with your Tucson! I can hardly tell a wrench from a wire, so I'm grateful for your advice. Hoping it won't burn too big a hole in my pocket, though. Just curious, if you don't mind me asking, what ballpark are we looking at in terms of cost for fixing this issue? And has anything else gone haywire since that repair? Cheers!

Hey there, always happy to share my two cents! Speaking of pennies, fixing the interior light issue did cost a few, but it wasn't too painful on the wallet. The mechanic charged me about 85 Euro in total. Now, to me, that's a fair deal considering I didn't have to go through the hassle of bashing my head against the dashboard. To answer your other question, my '16 Tucson has been behaving pretty well since the electrical repair. We didn't see a recurrence of that issue. Everything under the hood (and the dashboard) has been running smooth. So, once you get that glitch sorted, you should be good to go! Hope your repair goes well. Keep us informed, yeah?

Cheers thanks for the insight! Glad to hear your Tucson’s been treating you well post-repair. Honestly, I was expecting a heftier charge, so hearing it was only 85 Euro is quite a relief. I guess it's about time to take a good mechanic on board and bid farewell to this rodeo! I'll definitely keep you guys in the loop. Here's hoping this ix35 gets back on the musical road soon, eh? Thanks again.
