HRV Diesel: Black Smoke & Turbo Issues Need Help!

Had almost the exact same issue with my 2016 Honda CR-V Diesel! Those symptoms are super familiar, the black smoke, whistling, and power loss really had me worried. Yeah looking at your mileage and symptoms, it's definitely sounding more and more like what I went through! And yes, I actually did notice some early warning signs that I initially ignored (big mistake!). About 2-3 weeks before it got really bad, I started hearing this faint whistling noise during acceleration, but only when the engine was warm. Then the black smoke started showing up, just tiny puffs at first. I thought it would just go away But nope, it got progressively worse until I had all those symptoms you're experiencing now. With your i-DTEC engine, it's pretty much identical to what I had. Really glad I caught mine when I did, my mechanic said if I'd kept driving it, could've ended up with turbo failure, which would've been way more expensive! Quick tip: when you take it in, ask them to check the actuator connections too.
