Thanks for sharing your experience! Mine's got 211906 KM on the clock since the last service, and I'm dealing with this cooling issue. The problem actually started gradually over the past few weeks. I noticed it first when the blower started making a slight rattling noise, especially on higher settings. It definitely gets worse when it's hot outside, the cooling barely works during peak temperatures. No unusual smells though, just inconsistent airflow and that annoying warning light that keeps popping up. Your wiring harness issue sounds pretty similar to what I'm experiencing. I'll get it checked out soon, hoping it won't cost too much more than what you paid. Thanks for the heads up!
Hey again! Thanks for those extra details about your Vezel, those symptoms you're describing are ringing even more bells now! You know what's funny? After I had my CR-V fixed, I actually learned quite a bit more about these HVAC issues. With the mileage you mentioned and that rattling noise, I'm now thinking you might be dealing with something slightly different than my wiring harness problem. Have you checked your blower motor? Mine made similar rattling sounds before the wiring issue showed up, and my mechanic mentioned that these symptoms often point to a failing blower motor, especially with higher mileage. One quick test you can try, when the rattling happens, try changing the fan speeds quickly. If the noise changes with the speed, it's probably the blower motor. In my case, the wiring issue caused more of an on-off problem rather than a speed-dependent noise. Quick tip: If it is the blower motor, you might want to have them check the resistor too while they're at it. These often fail together, and replacing both at once can save you a second trip to the shop (learned this the hard way with my previous car!). Keep us posted on what you find out! Really curious if it's similar to what I dealt with or if it's the blower motor instead. Either way, hope you get it sorted soon, driving without proper AC is no fun at all!
Really appreciate your detailed response and that quick test suggestion! I just tried changing the fan speeds like you mentioned, and you're spot on, the rattling definitely changes with the speed. That's super helpful to know it might be the blower motor rather than a wiring issue. Makes sense given the mileage and how the problem's been developing. Thanks for the heads up about checking the resistor too, definitely don't want to make multiple trips to the shop! You know what? I just called my mechanic and mentioned these symptoms, and they said they can check it out tomorrow morning. I'll make sure to have them look at both the blower motor and resistor like you suggested. The diagnostic test tip will probably save me some time and money too. I'll definitely update the group once I get it fixed. It's so helpful having others share their experiences, makes me feel a lot more confident about handling these car issues. Thanks again for all the detailed advice!
Hey there! I had a super similar issue with my 2019 Honda CR-V, sounds exactly like what you're going through! I've got some experience working on cars, but electrical stuff isn't my strong suit. The symptoms were identical, inconsistent blower, poor temp control, warning light, the whole deal. Took it to my regular mechanic, and it turned out to be a damaged wiring harness that was messing with the HVAC system. Cost me around 155 Euro to get it sorted, but it's been working perfectly since then. Before you head to the workshop, Does the issue happen more when it's hot or cold outside? Are you hearing any unusual noises from the blower? Did the problem start suddenly or gradually? This might help pinpoint if you're dealing with the same problem I had. Plus, knowing these details could save you some diagnostic time at the shop!
