Honda S660 No-Start Mystery: Parking Heater Link?

Car won't start

Hey there! Need some advice about my 2019 Honda S660. The car's been giving me trouble lately, won't start at all, and I suspect it might be related to the parking heater acting up. Has anyone else experienced similar issues with their S660? This is getting pretty frustrating, especially after a recent not-so-great experience with a mechanic. The car's at 129,144 KM, and it's the gasoline model. Would really appreciate hearing about your experiences and recommendations for fixing this!

Hey! I had a similar starting issue with my 2016 Honda CR-Z last winter. When I took it to the garage, they diagnosed a faulty glow plug which was causing hard starts. I initially thought it was just a battery issue, but the diagnostic showed the glow plug was completely dead. The fix wasn't too complicated, they replaced the defective glow plug and checked the entire system. It was a half-day job and quite routine for them. While not a super serious issue, it definitely needs fixing ASAP since it can leave you stranded if ignored. In your case, with those symptoms and mileage, I'd really suggest getting the glow plugs checked. The parking heater connection is interesting, they might be related since both systems work together in cold conditions. From my experience, best to have both systems inspected by a certified mechanic. Hope this helps! Let me know if you need any other details about my repair experience.

Thanks for sharing that! I actually got my S660's starting issue resolved last month and it turned out to be exactly what you described, a faulty glow plug. Do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the fix? Just curious to compare costs. Also, have you had any other issues pop up since getting it repaired? Mine's been running smoothly so far, but always good to know what to watch out for!

Hey again! So glad you got your S660 sorted out, and yeah, those glow plugs can be sneaky troublemakers! For my repair, I ended up paying 560 Euro for the whole job, including parts and labor. The really great news is that ever since they fixed the glow plug, my parking heater issue completely disappeared too, just like magic! Turns out they were definitely connected, just as I suspected. My CR-Z has been running like a dream since then, no more cold-start drama or anything. It's been about 8 months now, and honestly, I haven't had a single problem with either system. Quick tip though, I now make it a habit to regularly use my parking heater in winter just to keep everything running smoothly. Mechanics say it helps prevent issues from building up. Pretty simple preventive measure, right? Really happy to hear your S660's running well too! These Hondas are solid cars once you sort out these little quirks. Keep me posted if anything else comes up!

Thanks for all that info! Yeah, my repair bill came in pretty similar, around that range. It's honestly such a relief to have it fixed! I actually took it to a different mechanic this time after my previous bad experience, and wow, what a difference. The new guy really knew his stuff and explained everything clearly. They did the glow plug replacement in about 4 hours, and I was pretty impressed with their work. Since then, my S660's been starting up perfectly, even on chilly mornings. And you're totally right about using the parking heater regularly, I've been doing that too now, just to be safe. Really appreciate you sharing your experience, it helped me feel better about the whole situation, knowing someone else went through the same thing. It's funny how these small parts can cause such big headaches! At least now I know what to look out for in the future. Take care and thanks again for all your help!
