Honda Mobilio HVAC Issues: Temp Sensor Problems?

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Blower does not work properly

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hey everyone! Having trouble with my 2015 Honda Mobilio 1.5L gas engine. The blower's acting up, cabin temperature control isn't working right, and there's a warning light on the dash. I suspect the outdoor temp sensor might be failing, but I'm not 100% sure. Has anyone dealt with similar symptoms? Would love to hear about your repair experiences and what the actual problem turned out to be. Thanks!

Hey there! I've got some experience working on cars . I had a similar issue with my 2013 Honda Jazz last year. The symptoms were pretty much identical to what you're describing. Turned out the outdoor temperature sensor's wiring connection was damaged, causing all those HVAC gremlins. Took it to my regular workshop, and they found a corroded plug that was messing with the sensor signals. The fix cost me about 155 Euro, they replaced the wiring harness and connector to the sensor. Been working perfectly since then. Could be the same issue with your Mobilio, but I'd need to know a few things to be more helpful, is the warning light specifically the temperature or HVAC indicator? Does the blower issue happen at all speeds or just certain settings? Have you noticed any pattern when the problems occur (like rainy weather or after car washes)? Let me know these details, and I might be able to share more specific advice from my experience!

Thanks for the detailed response! My Mobilio just hit 56449 KM and had its service last month. To answer your questions: the warning light is specifically the HVAC indicator, and the blower acts up unusually regardless of the speed setting. Haven't noticed any specific weather patterns triggering it, but it seems to happen more often during longer drives. That's interesting about the wiring connection, makes me think it could be something similar since my symptoms match what you described. Did you notice any unusual sounds from the blower before getting it fixed? Mine sometimes makes a slight humming noise when adjusting the temperature settings.

Hey again! Thanks for those extra details about your Mobilio. those symptoms sound even more similar to what I experienced now that you mention it! Yeah, I totally remember that humming noise, it drove me nuts! Mine used to make that exact same sound when I'd adjust the temperature. It's funny you mentioned it happening more during longer drives because that's exactly what I experienced too. I think it's because the system gets more stressed over time. After my repair, I actually learned something interesting, that humming noise was happening because the system was constantly trying to adjust itself based on incorrect temperature readings from the faulty sensor connection. Since the wiring was corroded, it was sending wonky signals to the control unit. One thing I didn't mention in my first reply, before getting it fixed, I tried cleaning the sensor connections myself with electrical contact cleaner. Didn't solve the problem completely but made it a bit better temporarily. Might be worth a try while you decide on repairs. But honestly, given how similar your symptoms are to what I dealt with, I'd really recommend getting those connections checked out. The repair cost was worth every penny for me, no more humming, perfect temperature control, and the warning light hasn't come back since. Let me know what you end up doing! I'm curious if it turns out to be the same issue.

Thanks so much for all this helpful info! I really appreciate you sharing your experience in such detail. That's super interesting about the humming being related to the system trying to compensate for bad sensor readings, it makes total sense now that you explain it. I think I'll try your suggestion about the electrical contact cleaner first, just to see if it helps temporarily. But given how spot-on your experience sounds compared to my issues, I'll definitely get those connections checked out by my mechanic next week. The repair cost seems pretty reasonable, especially if it'll fix all these annoying problems at once. Really glad I asked about this here, you've saved me a lot of troubleshooting headaches! I'll update you once I get it looked at. Thanks again for taking the time to help me out with this!
