Honda Life Nav & Audio System Problems, Help Needed

Navigationssystem is not working

Hi everyone! Got some trouble with my 2016 Honda Mobilio's navigation system that suddenly stopped working. I suspect it might be related to the audio system since some functions are limited there as well. Has anyone dealt with a similar issue? Would really appreciate if you could share your repair experiences and workshop solutions. Thanks in advance!

Hey there! I've dealt with something similar on my 2017 Honda Jazz (and previously owned a Honda City). I have some experience working on cars, mostly basic maintenance and electrical issues. Had exactly the same symptoms, nav screen going blank and audio acting up. Took it to my regular workshop and they found it was just a loose cable connection between the main control unit and display. The repair was pretty straightforward, they had to remove the head unit, fix the connection, and test everything. Cost me around 165 Euro but totally worth it since everything works perfectly now. Before you go to a workshop though, what's the exact behavior of your system? Does the screen flicker or just stay blank? Also, which functions of the audio system are affected? This info would help narrow down if it's the same issue I had.

Thanks for sharing your experience! My screen just stays completely blank, and I can't control the volume or change radio stations anymore. The audio still works but it's stuck on one station. Had the car serviced just last month at 104427 KM, and everything was working fine until yesterday. I'll probably check with a mechanic since it sounds similar to your issue with the loose connection. Really hoping it's just that and not something more serious!

Hey again! Yep, that definitely sounds exactly like what I experienced with my Jazz. When you mentioned the audio being stuck on one station and the volume control not working, it's even more similar to my situation. After my previous reply to you, I actually remembered another detail that might help, before my screen went completely blank, I had noticed some intermittent issues where the controls would work fine in the morning but act up later in the day. If you've experienced anything like that, it's another sign pointing to a connection problem. Since you mentioned your recent service, it's possible something got knocked loose during the maintenance work. In my case, the mechanic said vibrations over time had caused the connector to work its way loose gradually. The good news is that if it is the same issue, it's a relatively quick fix. Just one tip based on my experience, when you take it to the mechanic, ask them to check all the connections while they're in there. After my repair, they did a thorough check of all the related wiring harnesses, which probably helped prevent the issue from happening again. I haven't had any problems since then, and it's been about 8 months now. Let me know how it goes! I'm curious if it turns out to be the same problem.

Thanks so much for all the detailed info! Come to think of it, I did notice some weird behavior last week when the volume control worked intermittently, didn't think much of it then, but now it makes total sense! Really appreciate the tip about asking them to check all the connections. I've booked an appointment with a mechanic for tomorrow morning, and I'll definitely ask them to do a thorough check of all the wiring while they're at it. Will probably save me from future headaches! I'll update you once it's fixed. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience, it's made me feel a lot more confident about what to expect!
