Thanks for sharing your experience! My Jade actually started showing these symptoms about a week ago, right after hitting 223,846 KM on the clock. No weird noises when adjusting the lights, but I've noticed the misalignment seems worse on bumpy roads. I just had my regular service done last month so I'm a bit annoyed this issue popped up so soon. Might have to bite the bullet and get it checked at the workshop if it's indeed the servomotor. Good to know what the potential cost might be, helps with planning. Thanks for the heads up about the calibration part too, I'll make sure to mention that when I take it in.
Hey again! Yeah, that timing after a service can be super frustrating. I totally get it. After reading about your symptoms, especially the bit about it getting worse on bumpy roads, it's sounding even more like the servomotor issue I had. Just a heads up from my experience, mine started acting up around 200,000 KM too. The bumpy road thing is actually what clinched it for my mechanic. The servomotor is supposed to adjust the headlights automatically to maintain proper alignment, even on uneven surfaces. When it starts failing, you get that weird behavior you're describing. Quick tip: when you take it in, ask them to check the wiring harness too. In my case, they found some minor wear in the wiring while replacing the servomotor. Got that sorted at the same time, which probably saved me another workshop visit down the line. Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes, these Hondas are generally super reliable, but every car has its quirks. At least now you know what you might be dealing with.
Thanks so much for the additional info! Those details about the wiring harness are really helpful. You've definitely convinced me this is likely the same servomotor issue. I just booked my car in for next week at the workshop. Showed them your messages about the symptoms and the potential servomotor problem, they seemed to agree that's the likely culprit. They also appreciated the heads-up about checking the wiring harness while they're at it. The price tag isn't great, but I guess it's better than driving around with wonky headlights! Really appreciate everyone's help in figuring this out. I'll update the thread once it's fixed in case anyone else runs into the same problem with their Jade down the line. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience! It's made this whole headache a lot less stressful knowing what I'm probably dealing with.
Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2018 Honda Insight Hybrid last year (also owned a CR-V before). I've got some experience working on cars, but this was definitely a workshop job. The symptoms were exactly like yours, misaligned headlights and that annoying warning light. Turned out to be a faulty servomotor in the headlight assembly. Had it fixed at my regular workshop, they replaced the servomotor and recalibrated the system. Cost me around 1,040 Euro, parts and labor included. Not cheap, but it solved the problem completely. Can you share more details about when this started happening? Any unusual noises when adjusting the headlights? This would help narrow down if you're dealing with the same issue. Best of luck!
