Thanks for sharing your experience! That does sound exactly like what I'm dealing with. It's good to know it was fixable and not something more serious with the whole electrical system. Just curious, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the repair? And has everything been working smoothly since then, or did you run into any other electrical gremlins?
Hey again! Happy to give you an update on my Insight's repair situation. The fix cost me 155€ for replacing that faulty cable connection to the control unit and getting the BUS system back in working order. I'd say it was money well spent considering how many systems were affected. I'm pleased to report that since getting it sorted at the mechanic, everything's been running perfectly smooth, no more warning lights, nav system works like a charm, and zero electrical gremlins! It's such a relief when these things turn out to be relatively straightforward fixes. My advice would definitely be to get yours checked out soon. These electrical issues can be a real pain, but catching them early usually means a simpler fix. Let me know how you get on with yours!
Thanks so much for all the info! You've really helped put my mind at ease about this whole situation. I actually took my car to a certified mechanic yesterday after getting your advice. You were spot on, it was indeed a corroded cable connection causing all the drama! The repair cost was pretty similar to what you paid, and theyaged to sort it out in about 4 hours. The funny part was watching the mechanic's face when all the warning lights suddenly cleared up after the fix, it was like magic! The navigation system sprang back to life, and everything's working perfectly now. Such a relief it wasn't something more serious. Really appreciate you sharing your experience, it gave me the confidence to get it checked out rather than putting it off. These electrical issues can be scary, but sometimes the fix is simpler than we think!
Let me share my experience with a similar issue on my 2016 Honda Insight Hybrid. I faced identical symptoms, dead nav system, electrical warnings, and lit speedometer warning. Turned out to be a damaged cable connection to the main control unit that disrupted the BUS system communication. Got it diagnosed at a garage and the issue was serious since it affected multiple vehicle systems. The repair involved replacing the damaged cable harness and recalibrating the control unit. The mechanic mentioned that moisture had corroded the connection points. It took about 4-5 hours to fix, but it resolved all the warning lights and restored full functionality. Based on your symptoms, it sounds very similar. Would definitely recommend getting it checked by a certified Honda technician since these electrical issues can affect critical vehicle systems if left unaddressed.
