Honda Inspire's A/C Blows Hot: Fix Your Climate Control

A/C System Not Engaging

Air conditioning blows warm air

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Hey everyone! My 2018 Honda Inspire Hybrid (11,740 KM) has been giving me trouble with the climate control system lately. The A/C is barely cooling, sometimes blowing warm air, and occasionally the system won't even kick in. I suspect it might be the interior temperature sensor acting up, especially after a sketchy experience at my last mechanic visit. Has anyone dealt with similar A/C issues in their Inspire? Would love to hear about your experiences and if you found a reliable fix. Also, any recommendations on what to specifically ask the mechanic to check? Thanks in advance!

Hi there! I have a 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid and faced almost identical issues last year. The symptoms you're describing match exactly what I experienced, inconsistent cooling, warm air, and system failures. In my case, it turned out to be a faulty temperature sensor cable connection. The connector had developed corrosion and wasn't making proper contact. When I took it to the garage, they identified the issue during diagnostic testing. The repair involved cleaning the connector terminals and replacing a section of the wiring harness that had deteriorated. It wasn't a major repair, but it needed proper attention to prevent future climate control system damage. Based on my experience, ask your mechanic to specifically check, temperature sensor connections, wiring harness condition, control module communication. The fix completely resolved my A/C issues and it's been working perfectly since then. Just make sure you get it checked soon, as continued problems could potentially affect other connected systems.

Hey! Thanks for sharing your experience with the A/C issues. My situation sounds exactly like what you went through. I'm actually planning to get mine checked out next week and your list of what to check is super helpful. Can't remember if you mentioned it, how much did the repair end up costing you? Also, just curious if you've had any other weird climate control quirks pop up since the fix? Really appreciate the detailed response. It's definitely giving me more confidence about getting this sorted!

Hey again! Glad to help out! Just wanted to update you, since getting my temperature sensor issue fixed, the climate control has been working like a charm. The repair cost me 110€ to fix that faulty sensor cable connection. My mechanic showed me where the corrosion had messed up the connection, it was such a small thing causing such a big headache! And to answer your question about other quirks, nope, absolutely nothing! It's been smooth sailing for over a year now. The A/C kicks in perfectly, maintains the right temperature, and no more of that annoying warm air blowing when it should be cool. Getting that sensor connection sorted really was the complete solution. Trust me, once you get yours fixed, you'll probably wonder why you didn't do it sooner! Let us know how your mechanic visit goes next week, I'm betting it'll be the same issue.

Just wanted to follow up about my mechanic visit! You were spot on, it was indeed a sensor issue. The mechanic found corroded wiring connections just like in your case. Got it fixed up yesterday and the difference is like night and day! The whole repair came to about 125€, which wasn't too bad considering how much better everything's working now. The A/C is blowing nice and cold again, and the system kicks in right away. My mechanic was really thorough and even showed me the old corroded parts. Funny how such a small thing can cause such a headache, right? Thanks again for your help, saved me from stressing too much about it and pointed me in the right direction. Really appreciate everyone's input on this! Looking forward to finally enjoying proper A/C again. Time to close this chapter of car troubles!
