Honda Greiz Tire Pressure Warning Won't Clear, Help!

Tire pressure to low

Hey everyone. My 2016 Honda Greiz has been showing low tire pressure lately. Already checked all tires with a pressure gauge but the warning keeps coming back. Has anyone dealt with this issue before? What was the actual problem and how did your mechanic fix it? Really curious if it's just the sensors acting up or something more serious. Any tips would help.

Hey there! I've got some experience working on cars (not a pro, but I've dealt with similar issues). I had almost the same problem with my 2014 Honda City, and my has a Civic that went through this too. The TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) sensors were acting up on mine. After multiple pressure checks like you did, I took it to my regular workshop. Turns out the TPMS sensors were failing and needed replacement. Cost me about 625 Euro for all four sensors plus programming, definitely not cheap, but it fixed the issue permanently. Quick question, have you noticed if the warning comes on at specific times (like when it's cold) or is it unusual? Also, how many miles/kilometers are on your Greiz? This info would help figure out if you're dealing with the same sensor issue I had.

Thanks for sharing your experience! My Greiz has 46204 KM on the clock, and I just had it serviced last month. The warning actually pops up unusually, doesn't seem to follow any pattern with temperature or weather. It's super annoying because I keep checking the pressure and everything looks fine! Really hope it's just the sensors like in your case, though I'm not thrilled about the potential cost. Did your warning light flicker at all before the sensors completely failed, or was it just constantly on?

Hey again! Yeah, that sounds exactly like what I experienced with my Honda City! Mine had around 50,000 KM when the TPMS started acting up, so we're in the same ballpark. And funny you should ask about the flickering, that's exactly what mine did before the sensors completely gave up. It would come on unusually, sometimes stay on for a few days, then disappear, only to pop up again a week later. Super frustrating! I actually tried to save some money at first by just ignoring it, but that made me really anxious every time I saw the light. What really convinced me to get it fixed was when I couldn't tell if I actually had a flat tire one day because I'd gotten so used to ignoring the warning light! Quick tip though, before you spend the big bucks on new sensors, ask your mechanic to check if they can recalibrate the current ones. I wish I'd known this before replacing all of mine. Sometimes they just need a reset, though in my case they were actually dead. Either way, with those symptoms and mileage, I'd bet money it's the same sensor issue I had. How long has yours been acting up? It took me about three months of dealing with the unusual warnings before I finally got it fixed.

Thanks so much for all this detailed info! My warning light has been acting up for about six weeks now, and yeah, that flickering behavior you mentioned matches exactly what I'm seeing. I've been ignoring it too, but you make a really good point about not being able to tell if there's an actual flat tire, that's kind of scary when you think about it! I'll definitely ask about recalibrating the sensors first, that's a great tip I wouldn't have thought of. Really hoping it's just that and not a full replacement needed. The price you mentioned for new sensors definitely made me wince! But I guess it's better than constantly worrying about whether there's actually something wrong with my tires. I'll give my mechanic a call tomorrow and see what they say. Thanks again for sharing your experience, it's really helped me understand what I might be dealing with!
