Honda Greiz Connectivity Problems? Fix Guide Inside!

Hey everyone! My 2015 Honda Greiz is having connectivity issues. Can't get my phone to pair with the system and GPS isn't working either. I suspect it's a system-wide connectivity problem. Has anyone else dealt with similar issues in their Greiz? Really interested to hear about repair solutions that worked for you, especially if you got it fixed at a workshop. What did they find and how did they solve it? Thanks in advance!

Hey there! I've got some experience with car electronics . Actually, I had a similar issue with my 2013 Honda City last year, and my cousin had the same problem with his Civic too. The symptoms were exactly like yours, couldn't pair devices and the whole connectivity system was acting up. Took it to my regular workshop and it turned out to be a pairing protocol issue. The technician had to reset the entire infotainment system and reinstall the firmware. Cost me about 45 Euro, but it's been working perfectly since then. Before I share more specific details about what they did, Have you tried doing a hard reset of your system? What firmware version are you running? Does the system show any error messages? Let me know these details and I can give you more targeted advice based on my experience!

Thanks for sharing your experience! My Greiz just had its service at 269503 KM, and I've actually tried the hard reset several times but no luck. The system just shows a blank screen when trying to pair devices, no error messages at all. I'm not sure about the firmware version since I can't access that screen anymore. The weird thing is it was working perfectly fine until last week, then suddenly everything went dead. Kinda worried it might be something more serious than just a firmware issue. Would you mind sharing what specific steps your technician took? Really hoping I won't need to replace the entire unit!

Hey again! Ah, that blank screen issue sounds really familiar, that's exactly what happened to my City! Since you mentioned it was working fine until last week, I'm even more convinced it's similar to what I experienced. In my case, the technician first suspected it was just a firmware glitch, but after seeing that blank screen (just like yours), he did a deeper dive. Turns out there was a problem with the main control module. The interesting part was that it wasn't completely dead, just the communication part was acting up. The fix involved disconnecting the car battery for about 30 minutes (which is way longer than a normal reset), then they used a specialized diagnostic tool to force-reload the base firmware. It was like giving the system a fresh start. The technician also mentioned these issues often pop up after hitting the 250,000 km mark, so your mileage actually fits the pattern. Before you head to the workshop though, here's a quick trick that worked temporarily for me: try disconnecting your battery for about 15 minutes, then when you reconnect it, hold the power button on your infotainment system for exactly 20 seconds before starting the car. It might give you temporary access to check your firmware version at least. Let me know if you try this! By the way, did you notice any other electrical quirks before this happened? Like flickering lights or radio acting weird?

Thanks for the detailed explanation! I actually tried your battery disconnect trick just now, disconnected it for 15 minutes and did the 20-second power button hold. Surprisingly, it did let me get into the system briefly! The firmware version shows 2.1.5, which seems pretty outdated from what I could quickly Google. Now that you mention other electrical issues, come to think of it, my radio has been acting a bit strange for the past month, occasionally cutting out for a few seconds, especially when using the AC. I didn't connect the dots until you asked. I'll definitely take it to a workshop and ask them about that control module issue and firmware reload you mentioned. The 250,000 km pattern is really interesting, makes me feel better knowing this might be a common issue rather than just bad luck with my car. Really appreciate all your help! I'll update you once I get it checked out. Hopefully it won't cost too much more than what you paid. Did your fix continue to work well after the initial repair?
