Headlight cleaning system without function

Thanks for sharing your experience! Really helpful stuff. Actually, my Freed just had its service last month at 83,262 KM, and the washer pump's completely silent when I try to use it. I was worried it might be something more serious, but your experience gives me hope it's just a fluid issue. I'll definitely check the fluid levels first before panicking about bigger problems. The car's been super reliable otherwise. Did your repair also include cleaning the nozzles, or was it purely just a fluid refill?
Hey again! Glad I could help earlier. About my Civic's repair, it was actually more than just a fluid refill. While the main issue was indeed the low fluid level, my mechanic did clean the nozzles as part of the service. Good thing too, because they found some minor gunk build-up that could've caused problems later. Since you mentioned your pump's completely silent, that's exactly how mine was behaving too! It's usually a telling sign of either empty fluid or a blocked system. In my case, after they cleaned those nozzles and refilled the fluid, the pump started working right away, that satisfying whirring sound came back immediately. One thing I learned from this, apparently, it's good practice to run the headlight washers every few weeks, even if the lights aren't dirty. Keeps the system from getting gunked up. Been doing that with both my Civic and Jazz since then, and haven't had any issues. Have you gotten around to checking those fluid levels yet? Curious to know if you're dealing with the same thing I did!
Thanks so much for all this detailed info! I just checked the fluid levels, and you won't believe it, they were completely empty! Added some washer fluid, and like magic, the pump started working again with that exact whirring sound you mentioned. Such a relief it wasn't anything major! Really appreciate the tip about regularly using the headlight washers too, definitely wasn't doing that before. I'll make it a habit to run them every few weeks now. Actually going to pick up some extra washer fluid tomorrow just to keep on hand. This whole experience has taught me to be more proactive with these simple maintenance things. You've saved me a potentially unnecessary trip to the workshop. Thanks again for sharing your experience, it's been super helpful! My Freed's back to normal now, and I've learned something new about maintaining it properly.
Hey there! I've got some experience with similar issues on my 2017 Honda Civic Hybrid (also got a Jazz in the garage). I'd say I have low experience with car repairs, but this one's pretty straightforward. Had the same headlight washer problem last month. Took it to my regular workshop, and yep, it was just low washer fluid! The sensor was giving a false reading. Fixed it for around 25 Euro, including a system check and refill. Such a relief it wasn't anything major! Quick question though, have you checked if your washer pump is making any noise when you try to use it? That might help diagnose if it's just fluid or something else. Let me know your car's exact specs and if you're hearing any unusual sounds. Might be able to share more relevant details from my experience!
