Honda Elysion Electrical Nightmare: Multiple Systems Dead

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Navigationssystem is not working

General electric malfunction

Hey everyone! My 2020 Honda Elysion Hybrid is acting up with multiple electrical issues. The main symptoms are, Navigation completely dead, Electric system warning light on, Warning indicator lit up in the speedometer cluster I suspect it might be related to some coding issues in the system. Has anyone dealt with similar problems in their Elysion? Really interested in hearing about your repair experiences and what the actual problem turned out to be. Would appreciate any insights about the repair process and costs involved. Thanks in advance!

Hey there! I have some experience with car electronics and had a really similar issue with my 2018 Honda Legend Hybrid (also owned an Accord before). Last summer, I faced almost identical symptoms, dead infotainment, warning lights going crazy. After a few diagnostic attempts, it turned out the main control unit was faulty. Had to take it to a certified workshop where they replaced the unit and recoded everything. Set me back about 1000 Euro, but it fixed all the issues completely. Before I share more specific details about what exactly they did in my case, could you tell me if you notice any pattern when these issues occur? Like, do they happen right after starting the car or unusually while driving? Also, have you had any recent battery issues? The symptoms sound very similar to mine, but knowing more details would help confirm if it's the same problem.

Thanks for sharing your experience! Mine has 15650 KM and was just serviced last month. The issues actually started happening unusually while driving, no specific pattern really. Sometimes it works fine for a few hours, then suddenly everything goes dark. Haven't noticed any battery problems so far, but it's really concerning when all these warnings pop up out of nowhere. The price you mentioned for the repair sounds pretty steep, but I guess that's what we're looking at with these high-tech hybrids. Did you try any basic troubleshooting before taking it to the workshop? Like disconnecting the battery or checking for loose connections? Would love to know if there's anything I could check myself before heading to a dealer.

Hey again! Yeah, I totally get your concern about those unusual shutdowns, it's super unsettling when it happens while you're driving. Before I took mine to the workshop, I actually tried a few DIY fixes, but honestly, none of them worked long-term. First, I did the basic battery disconnect (left it for about 30 minutes) to reset the electronics, it worked for like a day, then everything went crazy again. Also checked all the fuses and connections I could access, but everything looked fine there. The mechanics later told me that in my Honda Legend, these symptoms were definitely pointing to the main control unit issue, especially with that unusual on/off behavior you're describing. It's pretty similar to what I experienced. The real problem wasn't just coding, turned out the unit itself was failing. One thing though, with yours being a 2020 model, you might still be under warranty? My repair was expensive because my warranty had expired. Definitely check that first! The good news is, once they fixed it, I haven't had a single problem since. Been running smooth for over a year now. Have you noticed any other weird behavior? Like, does the AC or radio act up too when these issues occur?

Thanks for all that detailed info, super helpful! You're right about the warranty actually, I just checked and I'm still covered for another 8 months, which is a huge relief after hearing about your repair costs. Now that you mention it, yes, the AC does act weird when these issues happen! It either blows really cold or just stops working altogether. And the radio sometimes makes this weird static noise before everything shuts down. Sounds exactly like what you experienced with your Legend. I think I'll try that battery disconnect trick you mentioned just to rule it out, but from what you're describing, it's probably that main control unit causing all this trouble. At least with the warranty, I won't have to worry about the cost. Going to book it in at the dealer tomorrow, no point messing around with these electronic gremlins when it could be a safety issue. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. It's given me a much better idea of what I'm dealing with!
